Hi Pete
IRender nXt, just honing my skills for the rendering competition, don't get much chance to render or model this time of year as most of my projects open in the next couple of weeks

RE: Rendering workshop - Whisky Glass
Another late one this time with octane, just as I open another bottle
I know - Wood texture probably not large enough, glass appears to be floating, and ice appears too silver? - but I'm looking through rose tinted specs, and I like it

RE: Rendering workshop - Whisky Glass
Late as always - only just finished the bottle

Just got a few minutes - eventually - to give this challenge a go.

RE: Any SU render engines that renders distorted textures?
IRendernxt straight render in sketchup, you'll have to ask Al how?

RE: [Preview] UVTools 0.2
Another application to consider and just out of interest to do with uv mapping - has any one come across this Headus UV layout-UV flattening software.I tried it, a while back and it seemed very simple, but have not stumped up $200 for hobbyist version yet, and there is Mac version.

argile might be the best mac solution?
Sorry Jeff forget to say it also available on Mac
Pete have you come across the UV tweaking yet?

So, other than Blender, are there any other apps that you would like to see supported by this plugin? I am thinking more in terms of UV mapping apps than 3D modelling packages such as 3DS max, etc.
Argile Please I know I mentioned it previously has uv mapping built in, uv map tweaking and you can paint the mesh with colors, textures, spays etc, would be fantastic companion to sketchup, it does have some sculpture tools and sub divide, but it is really a 3d paint program. (or they call it 3D retouching)

RE: Rendering Workshop - Studio - still life
Hi Al- I thinks its "hit the sack" over here.

one of the best scene massagers in the community...
Sounds kind of kinky
I appreciate the comment but I'm not up to the high standards of people who post here or in the gallery, as well as Boothy's in the IRender forum. -

Nice Rich! Thanks for sharing the fountain spray you found. Ivy looks nice on the wall...I would add a concrete texture to the fountain itself with a little dirt on it.
Thanks - Looking for a nice concrete/similar texture at the moment. It was a nice marble texture but didn't show up.

Richard, that's some of the best non post production grass I've seen in this forum.
Is it a component composed of several clipmaps spread around with component spray? Or a full 3D component? Is that ivy from the ivy generator? I know, too many questions... Hey, that grass and ivy would make a nice tutorial. Thanks again for the comments, but sorry to disappoint as its part of the rendering software, that you apply as a property to sketchup materials, a bit similar to the free tree program from Al(but when rendered comes out 3d), Its a ground cover version that I have adapted for ivy. Maybe Al would consider a ground cover/ivy version for sketchup.

RE: Rendering Workshop - Studio - still life
Thanks Pete
I didn't turn in as I just couldn't resist doing a bit more of a close up a bit similar to kwist and Adams. Remembered to adjust dof, but tried to keep it subtle again. I need to work a bit more on wooden handles, and try adding some dust to the plate, and the apples probably want tweaking ---- but I must get some sleep.
Looking and learning from people like Adam, Al, Kwist and of course yourself and others that keeps me striving for better and better, but it needs to be quick, fun and informative as these have been. I'm still working on the sss dragon, where there have been some really cool renders, mines no where near yet.

Pete that fountain is just fab.

Thank you for the image. (Does late mean "done late at night", or "turned in late"?)
Both - it gets too addictive, just change this and that, add more reflection, a bit of bump etc.

(Although since everyone else in concentrating on the apple, perhaps you wanted to concentrate on the glass. In that case, you should have put a "richcat" in it Or that shiny skull/helmet you used to use.)
Yes I was concentrating on the glass, but not very well, and maybe I should put my old terminator rendered head on it , its just my kids did this Wii image of me, and it makes me seems a lot younger.
I have re lit the scene as suggested and added a very subtle dof to highlight the apple. Now to turn in

Looks like dream coming true. Can't wait
@unknownuser said:
I would like to ask you one thing if possible, please try to do the blender version also, as you said, just because blender can also paint directly the mesh on the unwarped texture.
The other is Argile, which I have trying on and off for the past 2 years.

RE: Podium VS IDX Renditioner VS Twilight. Which To Buy?
As solo says
"There are trials and demo's for all these render solutions, try before you buy.
Pick the one you enjoy, remember the render engine is only 50% your enjoyment and skill is the other 50%"Heres a link as no ones provided it for nXtRender free 30 day trial (if you like it $79 student $35) which is the smaller brother of the IRender nXt.
