      Hi!
I'm not able to rise a imported cad-file and use it to make the walls. I have all the walls done but I need to import the wall-cad to see the hight of the windows and roof. Is this possible?

Are you trying to import a .dwg of your elevation files? Which version of CAD are you using?

I suggest you flatten your cad file before import into SU.

            Fixed.

            Thanks,

RPtools has 30day trial period but there is some new free software called Rpedits by the same people Renderplus that has the rotate function as well as move as Mover 2 together with mirror, stretch, etc

                Wallbuilder,

Do you mean rotating the cad elevations? You can use either the rotation tool in SU or Mover 2 to rotate the elevation around the x or y axis 90 degrees. Make sure it's in a group before beginning any line work.

                Mover 2 is here.

RPEdits also has this feature. Don't really need these but it can make things a bit easier.

If you need to flatten a 3D cad file just search for a flatten lsp to run in your cad application. You might have to explode some blocks.

The method depends on if you have 3d, or 2d CAD files. If 3d, then the polylines must be turned into SU surfaces. If the file is 2d, then it must be assembled into a 3d model after importing, then converted into surfaces. If in either case the CAD drawing is made up of 3D Faces (connected polylines, 3 to 4 coplaner sides), then each face will import as a surface.

Yes you can import the file as a component, and use it as a reference, or for parts to build your model.
