I used my technique for exporting a vector outline from PS, then merged that and the image directly in SU. It takes about 10 minutes, but it's a little more controllable.

Hi Alan do you have a link to this please - I tried a quick search with no results.

    • RE: Is there a "copy-multiple" ruby...

Tom, I eventually worked out how to do this. A few goes and it becomes second nature- honest.
Seemed to work Ok in 5.

However does NOT work with groups or components - strange
NB. By insert point I mean the position you pick on the object to be copied.

      1. Select all object.
      2. Ctrl+C to copy
      3. Ctrl+V to paste
      4. Paste anywhere. The object should still highlighted and with default insert point. (the original object can be deleted later)
      5. Press Esc once
      6. Now select the insertion point on object(which should still be highlighted) to be moved.
      7. The object should now stick to the cursor and you can move it, hold down Ctrl+V and you can paste it repeatedly where you want.

To change insert point, release Ctrl+V, press Ecs once, and pick another insert point, object now sticks to that point, move and then hold down Ctrl+V to paste to you hearts content.

    • RE: Is there a "copy-multiple" ruby...

It does this already in 6, the move cursor appears where you initial chose for an insert point and sticks to the object, if you let go of Ctrl+V after pasting and select S the object gets the scale grabs points - scale to what you want, then to carry on with original either press Ctrl+V again, or Ctrl+C to copy resized object and then Ctrl+V to past it.

Edit - I just dug out my old copy of 5, and it works as 6 except insert point appears not to work and reverts to a default corner position and the S key which you could either set up as short cut or just use the drop down menu. I'll try insert point again in 6, just to see if my minds not playing trick on me again, as I have just tried 6 again and the insert point keeps reverting to default corner ❗ , but a swear it wasn't before πŸ˜• ❓

    • RE: Req script to draw squares by specifying the area

      Hi linea

You could use the Make Room with ceiling height set to 0. (I tried it and its said there was an error with zero height but still created the square), it was in the free Space Design which has been that has been now incorporated into RPtools, which you load and after 30 days you are left which the free tools from Space Design.

EDIT 😞 Sorry just Re read your post after posting (must remember to read then read again), you have to type in lengths of the sides, not area 😳, but it might help ❓

Hi Gaieus it was only just been added very recently, and with the relative few posts and announcements here on IRender, even some users might not know.

Anyway.... this doesn't help with the vray/sketchup question.

, you can place an infinite plane and even apply texture to it.

You can does this in IRender nXt now as well, as well as backgrounds which can be set to be reflected.

    • IRender nXt tree editor

RPS had brought out a tree editor, but sadly it only works with IRender nXt and Accurender. It does a few a the moment as its beta ,palm, pine etc but will post here to show what can be done.

I was going to try creating some images to insert straight into sketchup with alpha ground plane and backgound, to so see how this worked.

I have been using AndriyG81 wonderful textures.

Does anybody have any leafs they could share?

    • RE: Couple of Random Textures

Its not you, its me, I should have given out more info. Its part of IRender nXt, but sadly only works with this rendering engine and accurender at the moment. As its only a beta release I was giving it a go to see if I could change barks textures, leafs etc, and your textures seemed perfect. I was going to try and save out as transparent background and alpha ground plane png, to see how good they were for inserting images with shadows straight into sketchup. I have that leaf if any body wants it?

I'll start another tread as this one should be primarily about your wonderful textures.

    • RE: Rendering

Having re-read your post stinkies right one of the best ways is to use the different rendering software forums, and search out the TUTS. Don't be afraid to join them and ask, as you will be quickly directed to them. Most if not all, if not free, have trial periods, and as stinkie says do make sure to try before you buy.
