RE: Sketchup is automatically colouring edges??
Check if your Style > Edge Settings under Edit tab is set to By material

@Medness Asking where to email license files is not the same as logging into a separate account and puchasing.
I can purchase licenses and ask to send them any email address for convenience. But the license files have to be associated to a user account.
In your instance you have multiple accounts so login to Medness1000 and you'll see JPP there
Merging is not possible.

RE: House with one wall
@massimo I'm gonna try this in Rayscaper. It uses the newer PBR disney shader and I wonder how it handles glass when you apply real world properties to both geometry and the shader.
It has a classic glass shader along with the 'Fast' glass. But when I see how Thea produced such accurate results it would be interesting to see.
Thanks for sharing that. The glass reflections really were on point in your renders and now I can see why.

@massimo said in House with one wall:
What I mean is that we must learn to see and decide what we want to represent. How to do it comes later and is somehow easier.
That's great advice. You really see this in your renders especially when you see the reference photos.
The glass in the windows is it a solid volume or 2 planes? It is incredibly accurate in terms of how it is reflecting. There's more at play rather than a simple glass shader.
Thea really is a good engine.

@Medness You have multiple account and purchased JPP on another account.
Login to that account and release seats

RE: Computer Specs
Hey Andrew!
That's a solid system for design work and rendering. Of course you could go higher and get amongst the weeds on the finer details.
But in terms of having a very serviceable device that has some grunt it ticks the boxes.
Personally I'd go 4080 on the GPU. If they have an option for 4080 make sure your PSU is 750w as the 650w won't do.
Otherwise its a good build that's more than adequate to do 3D work and rendering.

RE: Sketchucation Tools 4.4.1
v4.4.1 - Plugin/Extension Manager bugfixes
Extension Manager Load Temp functionality has been removed as Extension's Manager Temp-load is 'blocked' by the sketchup API

RE: House with one wall
For some reason I am drawn to the material. So much so I ended up look for real world interior shots. My first thought was some type of galvanised steel.
You actually mimicked camera positions of photographs!

If you jump between real world shots and your renders its nuts!

RE: Fredospline not appearing in Fredocollection
@Javelin Usage is the menu location in SketchUp. Many of Fredo's extensions reside under his Fredo Collection menu. Both free and paid.

RE: House with one wall
Just when you think 'I can render' the legend returns and reminds me that I can't.
The attention the detail is insane. I'm in awe

RE: I can't do anything with Sketchup web version
Displaying 3D geometry in a browser is different than manipulating geometry in a browser realtime.
A browser is not a dedicated app optimised to handle a specific 3D task like modelling or uv mapping etc.
A remedy would be to start with a file with untextured geometry. That would provide you with a performance baseline on how the web based version handles just geometry of a typical 'Liam' file.
If you see noticeable improvement then you could surmise that textures are impacting performance. Then make a pass on your textures to reduce their footprint and see if that improves performance.
But the short story is a web based app is not suited to a typical use case. Even though it accepts 100mb file upload sizes it is not guaranteeing you can work the file to same degree as the desktop app. Similar to how my TV remote has buttons with numbers but its not a calculator.
Horses for courses...

RE: Orgelf's works. second topic.
That 1st render has a really nice colour palette. I like the left to right gradient of blue to red.
