hi All i'm just trying the Enscape demo version - unbelievable how fast it goes. The out of the box example below is a combination of exterior and interior lighting and rendered with 4800 x 2700 pixels - it was finished after 15 seconds - even for such a small model very very fast ... Right then I got it working! There are 2 set/groups of registry keys, one that controls the toolbar locations and a 2nd one that controls the trays. I made a copy of both, rearranged my toolbars and trays, made a 2nd copy of both and I'm now able to import the appropriate reg file and then open SU with my chosen layout. I'm reluctant to post the regfile locations as I don't want to be responsible for screwing others setup up but if you ask I'll message you directly.

My current machine is my Apple MBP running Windows10 in boot camp, it scores so badly in Lumion’s performance test that instead of warning me it apologised out of embarrassment It’ll be good enough to test Lumion though. Prior to me producing the above I’d never used Lumion 8 before so I’m quite pleased with what I managed to get done in 5ish hours sitting on my sofa at home whilst munching a pizza. I have had a couple of hours on Lumion 7.5 so I wasn’t a complete Lumion virgin The church model came out overblown simply because of the way I’d built it back in 2011, as it was an internal only model, I never gave the external walls/roof any thickness to keep the size down. Lumion doesn’t do double sided materials so it’s ignoring 99% of the surfaces that would normally block sunlight. I’m not bothered though as this it just a test, if it can handle that model on my MBP I’ll have no probs on a better machine. I’ve got 7 days to play with the demo so I’ll get more tests done and post anting I think is interesting here. Opps, forgot to mention rendering times, my MBP is an i7 with 16gb, it spat the above images out at 1920x1200 (I think) in about 3-5mins each, I think that’s damn fast to be honest, I also did a video of the house in HD res that it rendered in a similarly quick fashion.

I have the same problem with my own website you see. My homepage shows small preview images of my projects and if you select one it takes you to that gallery, however the website does not compress the images and fetches the full size ones from my gallery so my landing page is over 18MB

Replying to one's own thread is usually bad form but I must say I really REALLY like SketchFab. Since I originally posted this I've added a load more models, have a look: https://sketchfab.com/dma-ni/models

Real building, it's an awkward one as is on a corner and this particular office is more or less in the roof. Here's a current shot of it: [image: BHu5_IMG_3653.jpg]

I added ssl (https) to the site and it broke the pretty links so I had to switch back to the ugly style url's I've changed the original post to this: https://www.dma-ni.com/dma_projects/dma_view_proj/?permalink=ardee-road-dundalk Also that is one very broken 404 page .... looks like I need to do a little work on the site this weekend

And here's how it turned out. The model is quite basic on the inside as an extensive renovation is planned and there's not much point in modeling what will soon be ripped out. [kubity:1hnw9d38]tReKVG[/kubity:1hnw9d38]

Nice work Paul!!! As Baz suggests the clipping mask is brilliant. You can actually apply one mask to numerous images. You can see what I mean here, the flooring is a texture repeated and then clipped. [image: HKaD_plan.jpg] [image: clnJ_clipping.jpg]

@unknownuser said: @richard said: @unknownuser said: Richard, I am curious......do you mean use 2 point perspective(s)? Thanks, Charlie Well yes but not by forcing them with SU's camera. Just set it up that way. Can you explain what you mean by "just set it up that way". I often fuss with SU camera FOV and save my scenes. (getting things as vertical as I can) Is this what you mean by forcing SU's camera? Thanks, Charlie Ok I should probably explain better. If just for NPR then I'd suggest the two point perspective camera can work fine. If rendering - any heavy forcing can make things look a bit weird, like an excessive crop.

Hi, Paul. Thanks for this. May I add some comments that I hope are helpful. Of course, you may already know this: In the US, a lot of brickwork is done with the modular face brick. This is a brick 2 1/4" x 3 5/8" x 7 5/8", nominally 2x4x8. Using 3/8" standard joint thickness, 3 bricks and 3 joints is 8" vertical. Horizontally, you can lay out a wall and plan your openings on 8" multiples. And using this mnemonic: 8", Odd+4", Even, Even+8". Odd+4 would be like 1 foot, 4 inches, or 3 feet, 4 inches. Even would be like 2 feet, and Even+8 would be like 2 feet, 8 inches.
