Thanks Gaieus,
I will give it a try for a while. It doesn't seem to be slowing down my old machine as yet so might be an option.

Axes Widget?
Hi,
Does anyone know of a plugin or a way to display the axes as a separate entity in the corner of the screen so that when you are zoomed in to a model you can always tell 'which way up' you are? -

RE: Roadster Update
If you don't want to render it maybe it could go into the next "Render this" challenge? . It is a fantastic model and I would love to see it rendered. Well done.

RE: Export dimensions from SU
Dave R, most of the images are emailed to a factory where they usually end up full screen, which is how I view them. To be honest I could probably cut them down a bit (your latest table image looks good) but I am finding the jaggies vary in smoothness as you zoom in or out of an image anyway. Guess this is as good as it gets. Thanks for your help guys.

RE: Export dimensions from SU
I see what your'e saying about AA in SU,- Leave as much detail in the export as possible and then I will have more to work with in post pro. I will make some tests. Thanks to all for your replies.

RE: Export dimensions from SU
Dave R, yes I did use AA on export. I notice you are using a sketchy style for the overlay example you provided whereas I am trying to use straight clean lines for the dimensions. When I try the method using double the scale and then reducing the image, the lines are still jaggy, even after AA in post pro.
Gaieus, at the risk of sounding ignorant what do you mean by resampling? Do you mean scaling the image back down?
Thanks guys

RE: Export dimensions from SU
Thanks Unigami, I did not know about the 'view size' option when exporting. Just tested it and by using same values for KT resolution got an exact match when overlaid. The only problem with this is the dimension lines are still 'jaggy' without the anti alias from the render process. Have tried anti alias filter in Post pro (I use GIMP) but it doesn't do much.

RE: Export dimensions from SU
Gaieus, thanks for the definitive answer, at least I won't be wasting my time trying to make it happen. I have used overlays before but was hoping for a simpler way.
Thanks again -
Export dimensions from SU
Hi
Does anyone know if it it possible to export dimensions (leader lines and text) for rendering with the model in Kerkythea. I have posted this on the KT forum but no replies yet.
Thanks

RE: Render this: Rusted, busted old beaten up car
Sorry, didn't like the idea of busting it up either.
Kerkythea MLT BPT 48 passes, no tweaks or post pro.

RE: [Plugin] Compo Spray 1.4.2 Updated
Didier, sorry, I didn't pick up on that in the manual. Components need to be placed in model outside of the selection right? Works fine. Thanks very much

RE: [Plugin] Compo Spray 1.4.2 Updated
Hi, I have tried to use this plugin on SU7 free, but cannot get it to work. I did not have the previous version so there were no files to delete. instead of the input box for 'shape' I get the box as shown for 'vertices of faces'.
Any ideas?
Thanks

RE: Find and replace multiple components?
Thanks TIG, sorry I'm a bit slow replying. I have just started going through some ruby tutorials and will soon start experimenting. Its got to be worth the effort learning; the possibilities seem endless.......

RE: Find and replace multiple components?
Thanks TIG, I get the gist of what your saying ( only the gist mind) and need to spend time learning ruby before I can make a start. I have no idea if I'm capable of doing it yet though. Changing the handles is simple enough anyway, I just use a horizontal and vertical version of each and use "replace instances".
On the subject of nesting, perhaps it would be simpler if I made libraries of the whole cabinet in different sizes, types and door styles, and swapped the whole thing.
I don't uaually show internals so it would be just a box tacked onto the door/drawer.
Thanks again

RE: Find and replace multiple components?
Once again guys thanks for your replies,
The components are made by Fredo scaling an original, which leaves the stiles and rail sizes intact, but then they are saved as individual components into a library.
Considering the kitchens I design can have upwards of 50 frontages I think the script using codes is what I had in mind but I have no experience of writing scripts in ruby. Looks like I will have to try and learn but I struggle with some of the concepts ( the last program I wrote was in BASIC 30 yrs ago and was pretty simple). TIG, do you think it could be a fairly small script?#Thanks

RE: Find and replace multiple components?
Thanks to TIG and dedmin for your replies,
What I am trying to do is change ALL the doors and drawer fronts(in as few moves as possible) but these frontages could be of different heights and widths. I am familiar with replacing component selections, but this would mean repeating the process for each different size. I am not sure how the selection tools plugin would work that dedmin suggested. Is this a job for a plugin that doesn't exist yet? Thanks

Find and replace multiple components?
Hi,
I am new to this forum and would firstly like to thank everyone putting out plugins and advice, I would be lost without it.
I am a kitchen designer and am currently trying to set up SU to perform some key functions, the main one being to change the style of door and drawer fronts in an already completed design. Obviously I could use SU's built in features to find and replace components but this gets complicated when working with frontages of varying sizes. Does anyone know of a method of doing this without repeating the process for each individual door and drawer front? Thanks
