Chris P 'Colour Edge' strange behaviour

Hi,
I am experiencing a problem with this plugin under the following circumstances.

1. Create a group or component from any object which is still in default colour
2. Apply a material to the group/component
3. Activate 'Colour Edge' plugin using 'Colour edge by click' option
   All edges in all groups/components in the model disappear! The default colour for the tool is 'No colour' by the way.
   This seems to be irreversable. Has anyone else had this problem or would know where the problem lies?
