@dave r said: What is the "correct order"? How is that determined? Thanks very much Dave!!, I now realize that it is indeed a bit of a shady definition! I just meant that each polygon has a begin and an end-point and the "correct" order is getting the sequential line segments in that order. So for example for a polyline consisting of 3 line segments I would get 4 co-ordinates in order that makes up the polyline: x1,y1 start line segment a x2,y2 end line segment a, start line segment b x3,y3 end line segment b, start line segment c x4,y4 end line segment c I think this is the only way to rebuild a polyline if all you have are the co-ordinates. @fredo6 said: One possibility is to convert the original to Polyline, which will give you the sequence of control points. Indeed, make a copy of the original bezier curve before. @mluy said: wow, I am honoured to get a response from the great Frodo himself!, you are a absolute hero just wanted to say that. But I am not quite sure what you mean, because if I convert the bezier curve to a polyline (which I did) I just get a polyline....where are the control points ? oops initial response too fast I got it now!, thanks very much!!

@pilou said: You can resize your object by 1000 then use CleanUp by Thomthom it finds many problems and repears Then Joint PushPull by Fredo for give a thickness Then solid Solver by Tig But despit of that seems there are always problems, too little surfaces, maybe intersect faces etc... where does this object come from? An unfolding one ?... Thanks Piloe, its the result of an intersection with two solids from a topographic survey but its a complete mess. I just spend 3 hours to do it manually and finally managed to get a clean solid (joint push pull V) I guess there is no easy way when you get a shape like this

You might find Tig's Extrusion tools more appropriate.

No. I'm suggesting you don't explode the components until you've replaced the geometry inside with a guide point. Since all the X-cross objects are instances of the same component, you only need to edit one of them if you don't explode them all first. After you make the edit, explode the instances to leave the guide point cloud you are after.

Sometime "auto-intersections" can be solved by Solid Solver by TIG or Solid Inspector by Thomthom! Generally when you have "auto intersections" you have not a slimmy path so not very natural! In the past boats' hull are drawn with that! ( a cool free prog! PolyCad [image: BaseLineCurve_B2_a.jpg]

@pbacot said: @mluy said: @juju said: It is unwise to paint components / groups, rather paint the geometry within the group / component. Thanks but that is also what I tried, it also does not work Even drawing a box or rectangle without making it a component or group cannot be painted Are you saying that you have no materials showing as painted in the file at all? In this case it may be you've set the face style to "monochrome" and you need to set it to "shaded with textures". and in fact, your screenshot leads me to think this as well. That's cool the way it is indicated in SU for Windows. (Another fail on the Mac though) O my goodness thank you so much , you guys are awsome What a silly mistake to make, I am staring myself blind and the solution is right in front of me!!!

With so many edges going on in there you are better off with the layer hiding option, but you can still make a significant difference by hiding the edges. [image: Dl5X_Softbleed.gif]

@dave r said: An alternative to the right click, Save as... thing is to open the destination folder in the secondary pane of the Compnonents window. Set the top one to In Model. Then drag the components from In Model to the secondary pane. If you are making a bunch of components that all belong in the same collection, i.e. windows or door knobs, and you are making them in the same SketchUp file, you can open the Details menu in the Components window and choose Save as a local collection and make the library in one swell foop. Thanks thats a great tip All you power users are so helpfull...thanks again

@dave r said: Does the extension require that something be selected before you start it? If so, select that kind of entity in the model and the search for the menu item in Shortcuts. The same thing would apply to creating shortcuts for native Context menu items. Hello Dave, thanks sooo much Its simple when you know how to do it!

Hi folks. The Guide Tools extension also provide a Point at Center for circles, among others, in contextual menu. The procedure would be to draw a circle centered where you want a Guide Point, add the Center Point for the circle and then delete the circle. The remaining Center Point is then the Guide Point that you want. Its much quicker to do it that to write this. Just ideas.

To find the face in its 'context' you need to use definition.instance[0].entities or group.entities rather than model.active_entities, or model.entities
