Gents - I finally figured it out. I'm using Skalp sections to create these plans and somehow during the last upgrade the correct scene styles got screwed up for the skalp sections. Deactivating/Reactivating the skalp sections and updating all scenes in layout fixed the issue. Thx for chiming in. Marc

Probably the best solution until Sketchup are able to update or give an alternative set of options; would be to plug in to a extra monitor. I find it quite convenient to run two and move my laptop between office and home

LumenRT was bought by Bentley about a year ago. And, unfortunately, they changed the pricing - not only did they jack the price up, but sell it on a subscription-only basis (under eon, it was like SU - you bought it once, and as long as you paid the modest maintenance fee each year, subsequent versions and updates were free). Now it is too expensive for my modest means; I'll stick with the old eon software version for now. If I were choosing between the two today (or if I ever get a really huge bonus or win a lottery) I would choose Lumion - for the money, you get more bang for your buck, IMHO.

Interesting topic! I prefer to use layout only for adding texts and annotations. Everything else, including hatches and dimensions, is done in SketchUp. SketchUp is more fast, more reliable, more fun and the 3d model can be opened by the client as well. Some elements are only modeled in 3d as a simple volume and it's details are added in 2d in the sectioncut (ventilation duct, a timber framed wall).
