    • RE: GML texturizer 2.0

      Hi ALL
Attached zip file has the info above, the edited GML Texturizer.rb and png files (in GML Texurizer folder.)
Works for me OK in SU 7.1 but not tested in other versions.
A really useful plugin and a small (very) payback.
Just install the original exe file and copy the edited folder and rb over the installed version.
FYI: version 2.0 was available as a shareware on the GML website but in Russian only.
This update is for GML Texturizer v1.0

      Richard

Good tree but no shadows on trunk.
I have the same deal using ATL 3d trees for flats.
Question is the detail in trunk and branches more important than shadows.
In ATL one can do it either way.
      Opinion please.

      ATL tree attached.

    • RE: Metal Spiral Stairs - how to do it?

      Hi Edson

Easy to build a circular stair using 2 Olde scripts.
      draw helix and spiral stair.
      Both available on Didier's site.
(seems to be off line now)
Just to make sure here is the all script zip file and quick tut on how to build.
Use the handrail path (followMe and Keep) to extrude handrail shape or to create walls along the stair.
For floor to floor just copy and move up/down as needed.

Thanks for jogging my memory on this too.

      Give this a try too.
A shortcut that worked for a simple test
I used TIG's roof tool which groups and made a profile cutout for the 2nd floor intersect and grouped same.
Then used BooTool Boolean subtract plugin for the cutout.
(just ignore the not a valid solid message) and ++++++

      Bingo.

No cleanup and ready for the next step.

      Frederik

OK a quick shortlist for the UI only.

      #1 is user defined keystrokes.
Almost every well configured program has this option.
      UI
2-Very dark and hard to read/see and while helped by selecting the Maya option this was just a desperation try and why "Maya" to select.?
Why not a "skin" option for interface color scheme or at least a (white/black) type screen option.
3-Icon bars need to be larger or re-sizable to be quickly usable and understandable.
4-Text for selected icon bar should be at the selector pointer not in an unrelated screen place (center/left ?)
5-Scene/camera should upload to screen with a simple double click.
6-[Select Window/More settings] to get a basic fcn like textures should be part of the default setup not in a buried menu selection.
Also show/hide for textures/materials/ etc menus please.
7-Easy navigation is KEY and having to access multiple selections from the Icon bar is a real pain.
Most applications use the mouse with Alt/Ctl/Shift options by simply clicking on the screen.
(a keystroke option for select would be an easy fix but user defined)
8-Rt click contextual menus for selected options/fcns are a gotta have for a more intuitive workflow.
9-On screen sun selection and move should prevent entity selection when invoked and be much more readable to boot.
      10-Keystrokes again.

      Richard

Good posts and I agree with your comments.
Very strong and fast render engine.
Very quick export from SU thanks to Tomasz.
Interface seems very clunky just like KT and no user defined keystrokes to help the workflow.
Lots of power but not a lot of fun to edit and use.
Very good value for the experienced user.
I you really need it then get ready to go back to school and study hard.
Thea is not a point and shoot application.
Just a beta however so it is fair to check it out again when it is more polished and fixes are in place.

      Thomasz

Problem with SU 7.1 here too.

Lockup on run and had to re-install the plugin again as well.
Could use some "Camera" pre-sets as used in Thea as there seems to be over exposure in the default Thea render settings.
f stop shutter speed iso etc.

Truth is that KT, Twilight are plenty good enough for most presentation work.

Thea is of course the next step up for close in and interior killer PReal for those who need that level of output.
      Sort of KT on steroids.

Pricing is fair but not compelling.

Install for V7 worked as you suggested and thanks again.
      Quick eval for Thea.
      Very technical and full featured.
Not for the point and shoot user that wants a quick and easy output.
Kt as it stands actually seems easier to get to solution for Photon mapped output.
      No object animation either.

      Hmmm?

      Todd

I missed the upper boundary data it as it is above the P.L. not right on it.

If you have a problem with the arc segment you can just draw an arc with the noted radius and then move it in to fit and close.

    • RE: Plot Plan Boundary Line Angle

      Hi Todd

The upper boundary with a combo of line and curve does not look like there is data for each.
That is a line length and direction as well as an arc description of radius and segment.
You will need both to make the survey close.
If nothing is to be built in the "front yard" area you can just make a good guess for the arc.

      Good enough for Jazz. ๐Ÿ˜„

      Good luck with the project.
