Check out Dosch Design for some pretty good 2d people.
Pay to play but might be worth it for a specific project use.

Hi All
Here is the GML Undistorter.
GMLUndistorterSetup.zip
Also GML GrowCut clipout plugin for PS and others.
Similar to Fluid Mask and FREE.
Really super for 2d face_me cutouts.

It seemed useful to be able to flatten selected objects (groups components etc) to adjusted (TIG's)heights above default Z height zero.
Then select and extrude +/- as wanted.
A multi-Z height selection.
Just an idea for consideration.
dtr
I yield
Just thought that muli-level flat and extrude might be a possible for structural elements and such.
tt many thanks in any case

Good news bad news
New and improved but will no longer accept the allow dwg/dxf export
Just business.

How about using TIG's Height/datum tool to set Z with your new tool.
Hmmm?

Hi Gaieus
Sort of an odd ball deal but IMO more script focused but move as you see fit.
The 3d PDF that I used built a much larger file than Al Hart's offering for SU but had better images in all render modes.
The PDF tools are just killer.
Cheers

HI All
Just doing a ruby cleanup and took another look at Didier's automated 2d output script ado.rb
http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/en_sections.html
creates both axio (4 views) and ortho (6 views)(pages / scenes) and will save as dxf-dwg-eps-PDF-and images (jpg-png etc)
The big breakthrough for me was to be able to merge the separate PDF files created into a single file as pages.
PDFill PDF Tools (free) at http://www.pdfill.com/ will do this and a bunch more perfectly.
It will also merge 3d PDF right along with any 2d PDFas well.
I checked this using the demo version of SimLab 3d PDF.

Some really good stuff not to be missed

Here are couple of old stairmakers that I dug up.
Maybe someone can update but these work pretty well as is and are good in both SUV6 and V7.

Hi All
I have tried both 3dPdf offerings.
Both do pretty much the same but the Simlab 3D PDF handled large files better with the RenderPlus version failing to finish and crashing on the same file render.
The Simlab version also produced a cleaner line hide for a native SU mode.
The shaded mode in both was just so so for presentation.
The two versions were downloaded last week so best to check the latest to see what new and improved today.

K Tools/geometry/make L with radius set to [0] will do the Cad clean/join
thing for 2d work.
I set a keystoke [K] (surprise)just enter and select the lines to be cleaned and 'that's all folks'.
Check it out.
Thanks again and again for all your "good works".

Hi All
SU V 7.1 is faster and loads big models much better.
Navigation is much improved over v6 pro-V7 free.
Well worth the price of admission for an upgrade for this alone.
Shadows and materials are turned off and on when navigation is started and ended which on my system had a transition lag of about 9 seconds.
CPU peaked out for both cores
Annoying if one is moving around a lot and crashing for a deadline.
Of course on can just turn off shadows and textures while developing the scenes or model.
Question?
Best choice ?
Core2 Quad or i5 update to speed up or eliminate the lag time or ??.
Modest system for check.
Core2 duo 8500 3.0 Hz
Win XP Pro SP2
4G ram
Gforce 9500 1MB
Thank you Google et all

Yes Chris
Architect but a happy one now
Heads UP
When installing 3d PDF 2.0 demo the install aborted looking for vcredist.msi.
This failed install corrupted both SU V6 pro and SU 7 free and they would not run and recommended a re-install to fix.
My work around was to copy all the dll files from a SU backup HD to the C drive install for both SU versions and that was the fix for SU to load and run again
OS = XP Pro SP2
Core2 duo
4GB ram (adjusted for XP limit)
Trust but verify

This is a long needed tool and thanks a bunch for taking the trouble.
Long time ago there was one with the same ruby name so good idea to flush the old one if exist before install.
Much needed and appreciated by all.
Cheers

Just a heads up for another SU look-alike.
As a former FormZ user I'm on the hit list.
Demo available.
Lots of functions but too many menus to get to them.
Will handle big files but IMO SU is still the King.
