Welcome Shane. There is no image attached but I know what you mean. It has happened a few times with me as well. I have no idea what causes it or an actual fix. However I have found if I zoom out or orbit it sometimes goes away. Other times I have just saved and exited. Then restarted and there is no problem. I am assuming it is a graphic bug or an error with a video card but I am not certain. It is annoying yes.

For the SU Viewer you still need to send an skp file which could be opened in SU if someone wanted to change anything.

I had a 3 year experience as computer graphic teacher from 1998 to 2001 with a mixed classroom of people with various handicaps. At that time we made a lot of webdesign and some 3d with Bryce 3D. Each man or woman has its own difficulties, there is not a general rule, but: I noticed that some tethraplegic students could work better with a trackball. In some cases we altered the mouse so that they could grasp it better; it is quite easy and cheap. If your man can not press well the mouse buttons, you can glue over them a small table-tennis (ping pong) ball. You also need a couple of rubber rings to put between the balls and the mouse buttons. A programable keyboboard for gamers, like the Belkin Nostromo, may work well beacuse you can split some functions over two hands: move the pointer with one hand and control the mouse buttons and wheel with the other. In the worst cases, we also used the Dragon Naturally Speaking software as help to input voice commands. Sorry for my bad English, I hope I didn't use rough or rude terms.

One way to approach it is to change the export filetype to .png and then set the export size as 2 to 3 times what you want. So if you are going for 800 x 600, then export at maybe around 1600 x 1200. This will export each frame as a .png. Then you open those in photoshop and resize them all down to the size you desire in photoshop. Learn how to set up and action that resizes them, then set up a batch in photoshop that runs the resize action on all your photos. This nicely automates the resizing process over the hundreds or thousands of images. Then you need a program like premoere or moviemaker or something to then take all the images and compile them into a single movie file. That is how I like to get good resolution results. There are tutorials around that go into depth. Paul Russam has a great one using Adobe Premiere. Maybe search for that if you will be using Premiere. Hope that helps, feel free to ask for more specific help on any portion of the process. Chris

Hello, This definitely sounds like a video card (or rather driver) issue. First go to Window > Preferences > OpenGL settings and disable (uncheck) Hardware accelertion. If it seems to fix the problem, don't be happy yet as if you work with HW acceleration off, SU may become slower with bigger models as well as some plugins (like LightUp for instance) won't work. You will need to make sure to update your video driver. Hopefully you don't have an "integrated video chipset" in your laptop - as they don't seem to fully support OpenGL - but unfortunately many "mediocre" laptop builds come with them nowadays (typically Intel motherboards tend to have these...).

I try photomatching archive images (dated 1890 or so) of rather large rooms (workshop) in a building. Of course, no idea what was the focal length and/or the parameters of the camera(s) used to take them back then and whether they have been cropped. The nice thing is that I have an architectural drawing of the building with accurate dimensions. I therefore built a 3D model of the rooms and try to match it with the available photos. I encounter several problems (usually that no matter how I carefully orient the model wrt photos with Photo Match), I always end up with scaling errors in at least one dimension. Could it be related to the last post on the subject? As mentioned in the excerpt of SU Help cited in the last post, no cropping is allowed for Photo Match to work reliably. If my understanding of the last post is correct, the original image should be (vertically?) "un-cropped" so that the horizon passes through the vertical center of the (resulting un-cropped) photo. Is this a rule of thumb? And what about lateral un-cropping? Are the assumptions under which SU Photo Match works correctly described somewhere?

Hi Everybody Ships and Hulls are your hobby ? Let's see this free program : http://sourceforge.net/projects/freeship/ (GNU public) It's fabulous and quasi-professional UI to build hulls... ( export > *.obj into SU works ) 8 models are drawn and you may build your own.Language option is implemented. Thanks to his father : M.v. Engeland MALAISE [image: rCHi_freeShip.JPG]

Another tip about model organization and performance: Avoid overorganizing your model. By overorganising I mean too deep nesting of groups or components. It may help to keep file size down, but it has been demonstrated to slow down the program. For instance, in addition to a large polycount, some 3D plants have their contents organized as nested components like leaf>twig>branch>trunk etc. It is better to let the filesize grow somewhat by decreasing the levels of nested objects.
