    • Smooth Jaggies in Animation?

Hello all. Newbie here, so maybe this has been well-covered (though I made a good-faith effort and couldn't find it.)

I am making a traditional 2D-animation cartoon using Toon Boom Digital Pro. I am hoping to be able to build sets in SketchUp and export fly-thrus of them, which I will then composite my animated characters into. The hoped-for effect is a richer 3D world for my 2D characters -- the ballroom dancing scene in "Beauty and the Beast" is a good example of what I mean.

I have found plug-ins that smooth animation paths, but not the drawings; any line that is not perfectly horizontal or vertical is rendered with jaggies. I have found plug-ins that allow for photorealistic renderings. What I am after, though, is the black-lined, no-shadow cartoon look of regular SketchUp, just without the jaggies. It seems like this would be one of the first problems tackled and I bet it was, but I can't find the answer.

Can anyone direct me to a plugin or ruby script that can help me?

      Thank you.

      Richard
