5+ button mouse vs SU
-
Is it generally possible to assign SU command shortcuts to additional mouse buttons? There are some gaming models with some 2-6 extra buttons.
Thanks in advance -
Yes.
I think it depends on the software of the mouse, which commands you can assign to buttons. I use Logitech for years now and it is even possible to write macros.
I'm working with combinations of F-buttons (coming from AutoCAD, where i had assigned F3 and F8 to the mouse) and shift/alt/cmd, eg. F3=select, F8=Move, Shift+F3=PushPull, Shift*F8=Move, Alt+F3=Line, Shift+Cmd+F3=Tape Measure, Shift+ctr+alt+F8=offset, ...
Works for me -

@Nuberosis: And how Logitec mice behave in SU?
I thought about this one:

The question is extra buttons and SU compatibility.@Juju: unfortunately (in this case) I'm lefty so variety got shrunk.
I looked at Razer products but some people complain about orbiting:

rv1974 Like i said, i use them for years (always logitech, i think since ~20 years now), no problems in SU. I have a G700s. The software of the G300s should be basically the same (Logitech Gaming Software). https://youtu.be/vn7D8O7_d50?t=252
You can define any keystroke you want. I use combinations of two or more buttons for the shortcuts in SU to multiply the buttons of the mouse.
