The download is an installer - you should be able to just run the file and it will install itself.

Dino Those Kolbe windows are not created right, some of them have reversed faces, bits on wrong layers etc. They have also not been made into components correctly, so try exploding the component, while it's still all hightlighted after exploding make it a component again this time select it to glue to vertical and check the cut opening option. This will now work.

There are several good plugins to help with making helical forms BUT you can do it 'by hand' quite easily - e.g. see here for some ideas http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=9097&p=55538&hilit=helical+ramp#p55538 ...

No, that's a vertex editor. It's like shooting sparrows with cannons. You can do it - but maybe a shotgun would also be enough. Maybe thomthom could release just the vertex highlighting plugin? The Sandbox > Smoove tool highlights vertices, too (what's more, "weighed"!)

Hi Rick, Is your model not extremely far from the SU origin? If so, try to move it to the origin, make sure there is no georeferencing info under Model info > Location and take the GE Snapshot only then.

Very cool guys, thanks a lot. I knew you could download them but wondered if there was a plugin out there somewhere.... Not surprising, there was!!

another couple of points 1 - in model info/components adjustments regards shading other components don't save and it reverts to the original position. I've tried everything to make it stay to where I want it set but no way. the tab in windows start bar doesn't show the current model - for example you open the program an it reads untitled. You then load a program called Model 1 and work on it yet the tab still reads untiled.

@ianglo said: It seems that unless I have Pro 7 version and therefore can create dynamic components that I can't go down the exploded view as shown in the answer from dedmin. Is there another option, other than doing a copy of the componets onto the same "sheet"? Cheers The term is misleading. Just as you can make a component you can also "unmake" it. It does not look any different; just sheds the characteristics of a component. How about ... Put each copy on its own layer. Explode and manually move the pieces of one copy into an exploded view. Make two new scenes each with one of the layers turned off.

Hi Maid, That is still clipping (and fixing the FOV does not necessarily help). Are you not in Parallel projection by any chance? What about the (original) world origin? How far is it to the model? Any stray geometry far away?

I've had this problem too, the best advice I can give is to treat it like a real animation if you want to have a man take five steps then you need to make five men in different positions first then place them where you want them all on the one layer. Then assign each of them to there own layer. After this turn off all you don't wont to see and make a scene, turn him off and the next in line on and make another scene and so on. Don't work with scenes and layers at the same time it can get real frustrating, its not a strict rule, the ants were added after the centipede was up and running with no problems but other modifications have unexpected results and figuring out why is frustrating . This is an animation I made with this method however because each centipede occupied almost the exact position I had to go about it slightly differently. Save it first Centipede and ant last.skp
