It's impossible to tell from your image of the folder structure if it's a User path or a HD one. The correct path to install MAC plugins is something like this - called the 'Root' Plugins folder: **Macintosh HD**/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/Plugins and NEVER this one.... *Users/A_User*/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 8/SketchUp/Plugins even if that User is the 'Admin' - because then other Users - like you - can't see that folder ! I suspect you've put the stuff into the Admin Users path folder... and not the 'Root' one !

Not being smart but only Google SU have that knowledge. They don't announce any roadmap so you won't find possible release dates anywhere. I'm fairly sure not even beta testers have that knowledge. Since we've just gotten M2 I imagine v9 is a bit of a wait. Always nice to have something to look forward to.

Jean, You are right, but if you start SU with the provided icon and you wants to open a sketchup file you are still in drawing mode. That's no logic behind I was making a lot of mistakes starting and selecting somethings but instead of that I was always drawing some lines. BTW, most of the time I start with a box and not with lines. @TIG You are my hero! This is exactly that was I was searching for! Thank you also for the list. hi john2, I'm not sure I'm understanding what your having issues with, but if you want to re-use the same profile somewhere else. click into your group [edit mode] >> 'select' the profile face >> 'copy' >> click outside group >> 'paste in place' >> 'make [new] group >> move it to new location >> copy paste the path into the 'new profile group' >> use 'follow me' not sure if you follow me... john

are you on the chaosgroup website? If not, you should be - as you can read any of Fernando's (user name fpedrogo) posts and you will come away knowing more. You really should watch some of his tutorials, valerostudio has pointed them out already. edit: added user name

My OBJ exporter [and the Pro one as far as I know] simply exports the geometry and groups/instances-geometry in the order they are found in the SKP's entities context - this in turn is probably affected by the order in which they were placed into the model itself. There can be no control over the OBJ file's ordering. As an OBJ file is basically a text file you could manually edit it with Notepad++ and reorder the hundreds of lines of code individual 'g' definition, but it'd be so easy to break it I wouldn't try. Also we don't know how your third-party tool imports the parts anyway. If they are not in the order they are in the SKP but say alphabetical then as Dave says rename them ! You issue really isn't with Sketchup, perhaps it's with OBJ export, perhaps it about editing an OBJ file, perhaps it's about your other app - which you haven't given many clues about either

Not in SU 8. If you have SU 7 however, it always imports what is on screen in GE so if you have a "historic" imagery loaded, you can import that. It's B&W though so you will need to export the colour image from GE and reload the B&W one with it in SU.

Sounded like a nice workaround, but uploaded content can be downloaded as DAE only in paid accounts.
