Ah YES!, gregw, that did it! Including the top edge of the extrusion profile closed the final miter. Many thanks Gaieus, Alan, and gregw for your help. I appreciate it greatly. Whew! Now I can move on to other things. Thank you.

The LO vector view should show the background color as setup for the style that is saved with the scene. It won't show ground, sky, or watermarks. If the SU background is set to low or no opacity, Vector view will reflect that. The LO SketchUp model view can also have a color "fill" set in the window "Shape Style". One way that what you describe can happen is if the background color in SU is set to white and transparent. This shows solid white in LO under "raster", but becomes clear under "vector". If the model view has a blue fill per the "Shape Style" window, then you would see that with vector. Unclick the fill and you would remove the blue color.

I am using a PC, so not perfectly; maybe on yours. What are you using? OS, RAM, Graphics card, SU version?

You can use Component Stringer by Chris Fullmer for all the "Chains" [flash=420,315:2i1s6p6d]http://www.youtube.com/v/rE0laoPV_z4[/flash:2i1s6p6d] [flash=420,315:2i1s6p6d]http://www.youtube.com/v/_ymYoEHiexg[/flash:2i1s6p6d]

Nope, no plugin; it's right there in the zoom section of the Large Tool Set. Ah you mean Zoom previous ... Pilou, no, you can't do the same. Snap loupe is very quick function - you place cursor over desired area and then hit Z key .. here and there.. very fast [flash=480,360:2rwausae]http://www.youtube.com/v/2B63LIfE6Jc?version=3&amp[/flash:2rwausae]

It seems that the ToolsOnSurface plugin is not installed properly, and/or perhaps it is missing the supporting files in the 'Lib' folder ? Go back to original download page and read exactly how it must be installed, and also get the supporting files that are required too [it's clearly noted and linked off]. Extract the archives as directed and install all of the files and subfolders-of-files as set out... Never ever move files into Plugins out of the subfolders that they arrived in inside the zip etc... If you have done this then you will need to tidy up the wayward files before restarting Sketchup...

I simply sampled itfrom the surface of that tile. Enter the editing context of the section cut face (it's a group, so double click on it) Select the Paint bucket tool Press the Alt button (the tool will turn into a sampler or "eyedropper") click on the coloured tile release the Alt button and paint the section cut face. If you have more complex shapes and materials, you may even wish to adjust the position if needed and achieve different, nice "cut" effects. I didn't watch the video, but it probably mentioned Carnegie-Mellon in connection with their huge database of mocap files which are now freely available. I was initially intrigued by this plugin, but having gone into it in more depth...and seen the pricing structure...it's likely that you could achieve much the same result within SketchUp, for far less money, using the Keyframe Animation plugin...or get far more bang for your bucks using iClone.

It's not about units but abourt how far you are zoomed in/out. How big is that rectangle for instance? What happens when you import a component into your model and press Shift+Z (Zoom extents)?

I hope that Apple do offer something exceptional to truly kick Google Earth/Maps butt. The more competition the better. But I'm a little wary of the fact that Apple's recent releases have been significantly less awesome than the hype created beforehand. Both the iPhone 4S and iPad "3" releases offered very little in terms of improvements. So why automatically assume that just because Apple are dumping Google that they have something awesome to replace it with? The animosity that Apple feel towards Google could spur them to create a GE killer, but it's more likely that they are just dumping Google and going with a close competitor than they're going to make a huge stride forward with their first attempt. I hope that Apple do offer an awesome service like those flyover movies suggest. I'm not holding my breath though.

As a set designer I'd say that having a option of "set, prop and vehicle design" are all very different things and I for one have never designed a car! Great to see so many different disciplines being catered for by one great bit of software. Please Trimble be kind and not forget about the non-architectural user base. C
