The fourth possibility... Use a webdialog to receive your data-stream, running callbacks that do something inside the SKP... There are a few video examples, if you search the web. The grass are somehow too scattered but if i put more density and increase the amount per meter till the grass are dense enough to look a bit realistic ( not too bold to be view on the land) i get super slow rendering.

Tig, Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll pursue your suggestion - could well do the job. I'm getting the impression that as with most things the devil is in the details, and that simple geometries exported to dxf by SU Pro will run easily - or with minimal handholding; however, there will be exceptions that will arise. why not just copy and paste into the component temporarily?

I find the pdf contains both shaded or colored faces (as polygons) and edges (as line segments). So if your CNC can't tell them apart you have that problem. If I put the pdf in my CAD app the two are easily separated by a magic wand sort of selection. Perhaps you can use a go between app. OR If I export a pdf of a wireframe or hidden line view I only have lines. (single lines, not doubled)

Just did the selecting units thing on the options button. Works like a champ to prevent it from being 12x as big. Still pretty new to the program so not really familiar with the drape tool. I'll read up on it and give it a shot. Thanks so much for the advice! bagger05

that shouldn't work... google sold sketchUp and Trimble don't use it's name on the folders... so for 13, 14, 15, 16 just change the last digit... com.sketchup.SketchUp.2016 john
