Found the problem after 3 hours of searching. It was one single filename with part of the name "delfin" but the "i" was accented instead of a dot. It was in the jpg file name plus in the doc.kml file that referenced it. Methinks (Trimble) need to fix their meaningless message so people have some idea what the problem is. The big problem is I was first getting an error message relating to latitude and longitude. The message then changed but the problem remained the same, which is is confusing to say the least. The finished version is here: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=cf8544f0c3074395dfd89dd71a555b12

Years ago there was such a tool by TBD [AddTime?] which seems to be no longer available. I have a modified version of it that I use personally. But because of possible copyright issues it's not publicly available...

It sounds like the style you are using has guides turned off. Go to View and tick Guides. After that check the thumbnail for the style you are using and see if it has circular arrows on it. If it does, click on the thumbnail.

Components on to faces by Chris Fullmer [image: yaOq_grebus.jpg] You can also make your volume with a component "cube" then replace the component cube by a component sphere! Random (or not) Replace Component by Sdmitch can help you for some variations! Ps You can see also this molecule importer!

@simoneast said: I've also been encountering this annoying bug recently, in SketchUp Make 2017. When you change the axes inside a group, even using the axes tool, it resets upon saving. Exit group edit mode before saving so the change gets written to the group definition.[image: X8cv_axis.gif] Making a component in the first place instead of making a group would give you the option to set the axes and origin where you want it as well as other benefits you don't get with a group.

@fatboycakeshop said: ....I have imported a DWG (with scale bar) in SKP and need to scale it as somewhere along the line things got a messed up. Is there anyway a can scale to target (i think thats what its called)? Basically I want to click on a line in the imported DWG (say the scale bar) and then click on a line i have drawn in SKP that is its real world equivalent. That way I can be certain its the right scale...... Resizing with the 'Scale' tool to exact dimensions can be difficult. Dave's method is the way to go. But note that if you import the DWG into an existing model with already existing geometry, then you ought to use this method inside the DWG's editing context(DWG in a group), to only resize this group. Otherwise the entire model will be resized, i.e DWG and existing geometry.

Working on top of the existing may duplicate some slightly-off geometry. Of course impossible to know until you've tried, but I've found that sometimes with imported 2d CAD. It sometimes is just "off" enough to keep messing you up.

@caronte01 said: ...Apple has moved away from discrete graphics for all entry level hardware, and only offers it on 15" macbooks, and some imacs, but not on their line of macbook air, or mac minis, or even on their 13" retina macbook. Intel graphics are imo inferior to even entry level nvidia cards, esp. for sketchup work. It's shame indeed... Honestly, if machine needs to be good with CUDA, maybe macbook pro is not the ideal choice as they GPU's have fairly limited RAM (512MB to 1GB). Not sure what's with next Mac Pro, looks like it will have state-of-the-art AMD FirePro GPU cards, so no CUDA there too (from published images it looks like one simple cannot swaps those to nvidia cards).

Yes the GPU is the "Graphics Processing Unit". I'm not sure if it is really uasable for you for production rendering because v-ray RT still doesn't support all features (like displacement) and is limited by the GPU RAM. But this is a general thing. Concerning distributed rendering only on the render nodes i'm not sure if it is possible to select only the nodes or if the "manager" is always involved. But in this case you could maybe decrease the threads for v-ray on your workstation. If you don't need v-ray RT over network now you could buy a small card now and add a faster card later (the next generation of nvidia cards next year will support unified memory addressing to enable the GPU to access the system RAM!) One thing to keep in mind is that buying a render node will not speed up your daily modeling and testing workflow - unless you always have your node running also for short tests. One other point to improve your laptop performance could be to replace the HDD by a SSD. (this wouldn't cut your render times, but could be a general speedup)

@pbacot said: Will be interesting to see how this goes or if SU can handle all those seats. Haha, we all build models holding thousands and thousands of seats I built a fairly detailed stadium with over 100k seats a while ago (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=ab540be05531814078c5a8ac7702b7f3), and liverpudlian built a similar sized model for Argentina also. My graphics card is a NVIDIA Geforce 6150SE nForce 430. You lot probably know that is hardly the best hard drive Anyway, I too would like to find a solution, although my current method dosent take too long. Putting seats in the corners is all part of building stadiums but if there was a quick cheat way I would use it Me, liverpudlian and a load of others post our pictures here: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=330977&page=425

Have you recently installed new/updated plugins ? Do you still get the message with Plugins disabled ? Have you tried 'Repairing' the Sketchup installation using the Control Panel > Programs and Features... ?
