I'll look into that possibility - thanks. After further playing around with this task I've found it's far better to create a solid out of the data rather than just an undulating surface. The reason being it's so much easier to then use the solid tools to eat away at sections of the garden to install paved areas, retaining walls, ponds, etc. Making a solid still involves using my original method but then attaching the surface to a similar shaped, (flat), surface below using a series of vertical lines around the perimeter.

It sounds like you are moving the cube away from the axis of the component. The bounding box normally hugs the component but if you move the cube or rotate it within the component then the bounding box will expand.

Hi Since you want to create an object that maintains two ends with variable distance between then split into four as you have drawn, the half cylinder ends as per attachment, the trick is to build cutting holes top, bottom and side, hide any lines not needed to be seen (outline of hole), add outlines or faces (e1,e2 you can delete these for your project) as required. See my models on warehouse...cylinder, pcmoor the rectangle sides should be no problem, hide the lines at the joins. The position of components can be tricky, but i let you give it ago, let us know if you need further help Cheers Philip half cylinder.skp

Thanks, TIG. I was curious if it was Dibac or BuildEdge. I do already have your SectionCutFace plugin and use it quite frequently. Thank you for your great work and thank you for helping me resolve this. -Mike

Thanks for the tips, I know about the spere or even just a square/oblong face for 'painting' a background on it is difficult for distance/scale issues as I want some renders at different ranges. The watermark tip is something I did not have a clue about but it just does not get there having a strange appearance but then I could be in error with scaling during import. I will have to try some different models for comparison. Thanks for your suggestions, another day with new lessons.

That's because CorelDraw is 2D! SketchUp is 3D. Orientation of axes is a whole different game when you are viewing a 3D space, especially when perspective camera is on.

Excellent, it's always better to work things out yourself with a little nudge in the right direction, you learn more and remember longer.

@barkest said: Does anyone have any experience/knowledge/notes/links on how to set up su on a mac network? The Mac version of a SUP network license is self aware and doesn't reference to a license file in a shared folder e.g. on a central server location like the Windows network license. Launching SUP f. OSX automatically looks for other SUP lics. in the network that are using the same license and counts down the number of lics. until the limit is reached. The way that SUP f. OSX shares a license between computers is that one of the machines will launch a daemon which serves as a broadcasting server for that license. When another copy of SUP is launched it looks for the daemon and failing that will launch a daemon of its own. [image: SU_1289321_OSX_lic_2-en.jpg] hth, Norbert

Yep, just with donuts, and same amount of segments, then it is useless . I tried curviloft with a larger model and it works ok . [image: ksgl_1.jpg] [image: Oatp_2.jpg]

I have the same Problem in v.2014 pro - every time I have to force quit. I see the option to save or not, but I don't think that's the problem. I've tried a clean uninstall and reinstall without installing any plugins, except what is installed with sketchup, and it still has the same issue. We have two brand new iMacs in the office, same specs same software, and the issue exists on both. I was hoping this would be fixed in v.2014, but I guess not. Are there still people out there with the same problem? We're running iMac (late 2013) with mavericks installed from the factory. Mike
