this is indeed a great plugin. what is great, is you can command + F to search your lengthy list of shortcuts. I have an older versionprintkeys.rbas unfortunately this one did not work for me. however on mac it outputs in weird hieroglyphics, but in Firefox, if you pick View, Character Encoding, UTF-8, it will appear correctly.

It's under the Edit tab in Styles, now. Click on the blue cube icon and you'll find the needed controls. That change took place with SU8. [image: GQZU_Capture.PNG]

The most likely reason is it's too small. SU has problems creating very small faces. Scale it up by a factor of 10 or 100 and try again, then scale back down if it works. Cotty beat me to it

I had sent this to sketchup and after a lot of convincing I was not looking for modeling strategies he tried the specific set of steps I suggested and was able to replicate it and "sent it up to engineering" I have not heard anything since.

Thanks guys, @seasdes - that's what I do too but want to end up with layer I set up in SU @TIG - that's what it's being used for, underlaying [Xref] Maybe exporting in 3D would be better even if consultants are viewing it in 2D.

Part of starting the project is obtaining a good understanding of the use of Layers and Outliner. Both are key to the project and will help you manage and control the components and groups of components for the project as they are created. If you are good at 3d sketching, start making drawings of how you think the project might procede. Some what like story boards that are used for putting a movie together to tell the story. If you have the wall space, put the sketches, photos and other material on the wall using masking tape. Put the plans on the wall also. Look then over, move things around as a plan for the project starts coming together in your mind. Them start creating a list of components and how you see the components fitting together to form the component assemblies or groups. Then place the components and groups on Layers and the Outliner. You should them have a good start on a plan for the project. Create the plan of action, them start working the plan. Modify the plan as needed and move forward. Bob

Hello, I am trying to import a DEM into SU Pro 2015 (MacBook Pro, OS Yosemite) and am having difficulties. I downloaded elevation data from web-site (search for "Mntopo' web site) in the form of a DEM. The resulting files were of extensions .bil, .hdr, .xml,.....I had no luck importing. I tried downloading from the same web site in a different format , the extensions were different (and many). Still, I had no luck importing. Any suggestions? I am trying to create a 3D model of a wetland mitigation site. Thank you! Best, Jeff

Pas besoin de recréer un fil avec le même titre pour le remonter! Il suffit de reprendre l'ancien et de mettre un message de plus! Mes suggestions n'ont pas suffit ? Et poster les fichiers en format SU 6 pour une plus vaste audience!

@dave r said: If you had read the original post, though, you would have found out that the client already has SketchUp installed on their computer. No need for the viewer. Sorry. I see.

Yup, we were fine thanks. No flooding at all over here. I've got quite a few friends up in Lyons. I had a chance to go up there and help dig some homes out of the mud - what a mess! Its going to take some serious work to get that town up and running again.

To follow on from Dave and your orientation to the red question, it sort of does do that but there is slightly more to it. SU has a global orientation set at the origin, meaning it sees things with the origin point at the bottom left of the screen. Therefore text generally follows that overall concept, it will attempt to orientate to the bottom left corner of the face you place it on. As you can see below, the text follows that orientation even on a sphere, as it is following the actual facets of the sphere. So as an example, if you try to place text on a chair leg, if it is standing up the text will natural orient across it, but if it is lying down it will follow the length. Hi Nicmask, I've also had this problem. I don't remember if trashing my plist helped or not. I think in the end, I had to uninstall and reinstall SU.

Sadly the link gives me drivers that are older than the current ones installed on my laptop. Oh well. Still a great piece of software Thank you Kris and Alexey for the replies. Scott.

@wo3dan said: (*) create a 'Face Me' component with a circular face. Wrap this çomponent in a new 'Face Me' component with its blue perpendicular to the inside blue. The disk will face the camera all the time... Thanks, this is a better solution. Small sphere is difficult to move and placed in the center. But, math point should not be zoomed, always has the same setpoint. Maybe in future versions to add options for using in math.
