Hope this makes sense. Thanks! The issue you are having is easily fixed by welding your segments together to form one 'Path'. There are various welding tools, Tig Weld, Curvizard or plain old Weld are just three that spring to mind. So however you go about getting the correct number of segments afterwards remember to join them together so that other tools will see them as a path.

Thank you TIG for this workflow. When I'll get more experience probably will it go even faster. I changed the default settings X-ray and on the "front-material" I gave the blue and on the "back-material" I gave red. Now much easier to work in this mode. If the model only needs a little sort out your plugin (SolidSolver) copes better. Thank you again

You can copy plugins for your old installation to SU2014. It isn't advised because Ruby 1.8 is no longer supported, SU2014 had to switch to Ruby 2.0 and a large number of plugins weren't written to meet the Ruby 2.0 standards. They have reduced somewhat the number of posts from users who can't figure out how to install plugins or can't get their plugins to work because they installed them incorrectly. There's a number of us who have spent countless hours helping others to get plugins installed correctly. You can go back and look through the Plugins forum and easily find example after example. The problem hasn't been eliminated because there are still people who insist on installing plugins manually and can't manage to do it correctly, but it is fewer than it used to be.

this can be done with the standard sketchup system too... you can split a model into components and then have a folder where the components are stored. you'll need to be strict with checkout of the components or have them assigned to certain individuals though. then the large project model can have the components updated to show revisions or changes. Though I'm sure the plugins will help greatly in this arena.

Why there is no multithreading? Why there is no support for alembic files? Why Sketchup is so slow in terms of saving large files? Why there is no support for fast import of obj files?
