    your model is fine in sketchup and the face orientation is correct. i saved it as version 7 and imported in max 2014 as skp.. it works perfectly, no face flipping at all. that said, i suppose the problem can be related to newer versions of max/sketchup reader.

    You won't find much when searching for "mac" because as @pbacot observed, the vast majority of extensions/plugins run equally well on both platforms. In that case, they don't break out "mac" as a visible keyword anywhere that the search would find. You should search for the functions you need and then verify Mac-compatibility rather than the other way around. Plugins usually state both the OS and the SketchUp versions the author has tested for compatibility. Given the major changes in SketchUp and the version of Ruby it uses since SU 8, many authors no longer support SU 8. That's a bigger factor than Mac vs Windows.

    Uploaded SKP files get converted automatically so they can be downloaded for older versions but effective at the beginning of this year, they are no longer making files for versions older than SU2014.

    I just did some more testing and now have a clue as to what is happening. I has to do with the complexity of other objects in the model. When I started the testing, I just entered a bunch of 2D text instances. As the number of entries increased, I saw some very minor slow down so I then went and added my normal car wash equipment to the model. With the addition of each piece, particularly more and more complex ones (equipment with many component instances) adding additional text object began to slow down. It started taking even longer to edit existing 2D text instances. So, it looks like the more complex the model becomes, the longer it takes to both add and edit 2D text instances. It also seems like editing existing instances takes longer than adding additional ones. Maybe TIG will be able to address this in some way. As I said in my earlier post, I had reached a point where it can take 4 to 7 minutes to edit a 2D text object.

    Are you using SketchUp 8 as your profile indicates? Assuming you've actually downloaded and installed the current version of SketchUp Make (2017), it starts as a 30 day trial of SketchUp Pro. It'll revert to Make at the end of the trial. To open SketchUp, choose a template and then click on Start Using SketchUp. [image: O5GH_Screenshot-4_30_20174_25_19PM.png]

    Hi, I am having the same problem using USGS DEM files from høydedata. I have tried converting them to UTC projection and save as ASCII dem files in 3DEM, but get the same result as filibis. I have also tried converting GeoTIFF from høydedata with the same method. Have you found anyway around this problem besides using Civil 3D?

    Ok, Gang, Re-Verified - Icon size large option was checked. I deleted all older extensions, and moved all the newest ones to the proper User....Plugin folder where they should have been all along. Then installed them through the Sketchup extension manager Then I located where all the extension toolbar icons are that are coming in as too small. As mentioned there are a 12x and a 24x png image in each reference folders Here's what the GUESSING BEGINS? (Please let me whats wrong!!!!, probably everything!!!) Im guessing the 12x is linked to the Sketchup small Icon choice and the 24x to the large icon check box? As I dont want to mess with the creators code... I took a 24x icon did a (Save-As) and made a 48x icon in Photoshop. -Because it is more "blurry" I cleaned and sharpened it than saved it into the location of the developers 12x and 24x location. -I am guessing in the code it links to whatever the 12x image is to the small icon choices -And if you check the large icon "box" it grabs and uses the 24x -So since I have limited knowledge, to link the new 48x icon is out of my abilities....but -A can do a (Save-As) of the 24x icon and save it as (24xoriginal) so the paths will ignore it,(And I can put it back if it doesn't work). -Then rename the 48x image as 24x, so setup pathways will pick this 200% larger image. ????? How crazy is this way of thinking? If this does work, am I really screwing up things up? Thanks, Matte
