When there is a "nice" bug, we report it "over there" anyways...

@krisidious said: as well you shouldn't get used to our imperial system... is archaic and irrational. 10 units of 1 and 0 that is the universal language, that... when and if ever we meet another life form, from another place, will be the language they know. UNLESS they have 16 fingers ? Then it'd be in Hexadecimal... But it's true that on/off 1/0 binary is the simplest of all... Of course base 12 like feet/inches does have it's advantages - 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 2/3 and 3/4 are all whole numbers - unlike metric/decimal where only 1/2 and assorted 1/10ths work... That's why long a go some one put 12 hours into the day and night and 360 degrees in a circle - 360 is a multiple of 12 and subdivides into lots of whole numbers - unlike gradians and radians...

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried....or willing to try to replicate the results I have posted above? Anyone....Anyone..... Also,& In a way I am a bit surpised the google folks haven't chimed in about this. Seems the absense of background/sky greatly improves the exporting result, possibly giving a clue to the 'failed to save" message. best, C

NotDoneYet, Note that you can force the axis rotation easily by first placing your moue somewhere on the particular line (axis) you want to rotate your model around click one and still pressing the mouse button, drag your cursor along the desired axis when you see the colour of that desired axis (or it say "On line" for any other, custom line) you can release the mouse button; it is locked that way now you can pick your point to rotate and do the rest as usually.

Not much use in external renderers, but I've had good luck using the watermark feature to place backgrounds, skies, etc inside the model and than export the whole scene. Take the extra step out of doing it in photoshop, and you also get nicer edges, transparencies, shadows than having to cut out the background in photoshop to put in a background or sky. Depending on the background though, it can somewhat limit the scene shots. (crojack)

Oh, I know about the Scenes dialog window, it would be nice to double-click it to rename it. It is less efficient to always be going to separate windows to do stuff, but maybe I should slow down some. Thanks for the link to the script, that is nice! (crojack)

Edson, are all your lines changing color when you select By Material? If so then all your lines were already painted somehow. The only way to change this is to paint all your lines back to default and then paint only the lines you need. The best way to do that is to go to wireframe, select the lines and change their color via the Entity Info panel.

I don't have the new version of SketchUp. But it is apparently not compatible with the old CDoc application. Remove the CDoc_loader.rb from your plugins folder. The functions of CDoc are now in RpTools. Al Hart
