You can not run from a problem with SU if you on purpose or accidentally apply a material to a group or component, it messes up your default material and produces problems as you have described. I really do not think you will get rid of that problem by reinstalling SU. What I do is if I get to that problems I explode a component or a group and apply default material and reapply new material and then make a group or a component again. I am almost sure that there is a plugin for that but since I do not get into those problems often I never investigate options like plugins for resolving them. Also, you need to follow advice for all non-single polygon object, ex. like curtains, keep a good orientation of your default material when you are creating a model.

your main problem is cr@ppy PC- get something decent. But now, in your situation only one thing could help you- aggressive vray denoising. If you got lots of transparent materials in vegetation- switch transparency type to 'clip'. Keep noise threshold at .01 or .02 (preferably). Lowering it to .005 is nonsense- you'll render forever.

I think the problem is with Vray. there is a freeze when you exit the video mode and VRay is not properly stopped. I have the issue only with your model. So I am trying to find out the cause. Same for the change of view camera. I got it only for your model.

OK, i've got solution On Environment Tab, i've repliced Background map which was /sunlight to color black, and turned on GI replacement and set there /sunlight. Edit:dont forget to also edit reflection replacemet same as GI [image: ISa1_1_VRAY_SETTINGS.JPG]

Figured it out yesterday. Had the Geoplane in vray on, then turned it off. I don’t think any question is ever stupid. It happens.

Is your selection a group or component, with inside, other groups or components? In order to troubleshoot (since I cannot reproduce the problem), could you Leave the Ruby console when you work with Animator, in case there are errors post or PM me the model Many thanks Fredo

Sorry, I didn't see this until now. (I stopped getting notifications for new topics.) Are you still experiencing the crash? If so, are you on Windows or macOS? (Which version of the OS?) Are you also getting the BugSplat dialog? If so, did you submit it? (And did you enter anything into it that can be used to look up the crash?)
