Thanks guys. Made it for an apartment remodel concept I'm working on. Nice rendering Solo. Been trying to render the kitchen scene I put together but I'm still behind on my rendering skills. Having an old P4 HT machine doesn't help because it takes forever to render with multiple lighting sources. I uploaded a "lite" version without the raised lettering and a couple of other tweaks which includes reducing some geometry using Artisan.

I would like to share here a technique to export models from 3dsmax Autodesk to google sketchup using 3ds files. Please download the file: DetachElements.mcr in this site: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scrip ... h-elements Then insert this file in the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\3ds Max 2010\Scripts\Startup I import the model to be exported into the Sketchup into the 3dsmax, I press on the keyboard Alt+NumPad2 and after this Alt+NumPad3. What do these shortcuts? Alt + NumPad2 Separates groups in all elements of the model, using the script mentioned above. Alt + NumPad3 Makes 'Reset Xform'. After that it's only export to Google Sketchup, that objects do not come all messed up. Surely you want to use the plugin CleanUP done by thomthom. Thanks..

HA! I got it, with the help of a local math genius. Check out the solution attached. Just open the Dynamic Components option and switch the hinging from left to right and use the interact tool on the door. SIN was the answer! (fist pump) Door Hinging Solved.skp

@tig said: http://www.the3dstudio.com/product_details.aspx?id_product=251531 but $60 http://www.creativecrash.com/rhino3d/marketplace/3d-models/architecture/structures/c/caryatid but $60 http://www.exchange3d.com/3D%20Model%20of%20Caryatid/prod_15793.html was $60 now $55 http://www.greatbuildings.com/models/Erectheion_mod.html is a free 3D model of the Erectheion with its Caryatids but it's 3dmf format. These are all 'original' caryatids as at the Acropolis... but any human [female] statue used as a column is a 'caryatid' too - if absolute accuracy isn't need find a 3d standing woman model and use that with modifications... There are several in the 3d-warehouse... http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=14e3023f03787b204a736b2733b8d89e&prevstart=0 http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=c29d12f4b7ca01818b14db3b83de9ff&prevstart=0 etc etc... Thank you so much for these.

Guys, The best place for this kind of discussion is the Podium forum, you would have got a definitive answer a long time ago. As a rule, the team don't follow Podium discussions on other forums, I only found this because clay posted a link on our site. This is the long-standing textured components issue that has been plaguing us for some time. We are working on it, but until we get a fix, the solution is to explode the components. Generally you can regroup/recomponentise them afterwards. We do have a V2 trial version

I'm not surprised there's been no response. You've given us almost no useful information that would help us in guiding you to a solution.

Mr Solo, you posted "probably not accurate but anyway, I used a basic proxy (half model symmetry modeling), subdivided with 2 iriterations, then adjusted form using FFD, used JPP for thickness subdivided with another 2 iriterations and duplicated flipped and joined." I would be grateful if you would explain the steps involved in creating this chair.
