Thank you, gentlemen. Just for fun, I made another couple of images using this style. I'm considering some variations on it which I might post. Is it too dark as it is? [image: 5203596991_5d7a8dd49a.jpg] [image: 5204196276_f78c61f77b.jpg]

@unknownuser said: So, you mean to start from a horizontal base and go up? Yup,Just trace over a hanging cloth picture and pull the geometry up,then divide a bit the surface and play with the lines a bit,can t be that hard. @unknownuser said: Sorry, I don't have much experience (and intuition - which is developed by experience, after all ) in modelling organic stuff. It's my first cloth modeling too, although is not actually a cloth is more like a messy mesh and a texture applied to it,but is good for visualization because is so poly less and looks pretty real(it s not good enough for the main object in a render though).

Thanks Boofredlay! You really helped me to help someone else with the model you made. I took your shape and traced the bottom form with some follow me bristles. It's not truly optimized, I should have only made one bristol and deformed all the other copies to keep file size down. But it did not dawn on me to do so until I was almost done. Oh well another drawing for another day! Anyway Thanks again! Matte (Present Progress Attached) Broom

I usually have a 'hidden' layer setup by default, and place all those boundary lines on that and just turn it off.

I'd use 2d cutouts of players. There will be a lot of usable images on flickr under "high school football".

Mack, the styles in SketchUp are raster images "overlaid" on the model. The lines you see aren't really part of the model.

There was a topic on this http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=175671#p175671 , I don't know if this will be of help, also I think there are some electrical symbols on 3D warehouse. Hope it helps.

AFAIK there is no "toilet" tutorial, but there are many other that will help you get familiar with basic SU operations, and there are lots of plugins around here ( with video tutorials ) that you can use to create all kinds of shapes - like Fredo6´s Curviloft http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=28586 and Whaat´s SubdivideAndSmooth http://www.smustard.com/script/SubdivideAndSmooth

(sorry, too late) Basically, curved surfaces consist of planar facets whose edges have the "smooth" property. By displaying hidden geometry you can see those smoothed edges as dashed lines. Now you have all options for rotating/moving a texture image on a face. Also there exists the "sample" tool (which is the paint bucket while pressing the alt key). With the sample tool you can copy a material (including its the texture orientation) and transfer it to neighbouring faces. Thus you can wrap a texture step by step on a curved surface (from facet to facet). Another way is to use the planar projection feature. I hope you don't mind if I just give you ths link that explains the topic in more detail: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/sketchup/thread?tid=305938c70981364b

Glad I could be helpful. It is nice to have an exercise that can also serve a purpose, so I have to say thanks in return, right?
