@tellnuhu said: @rafferty94 said: Have a look at http://cgtextures.com/ They have some decent textures. As for the resolution of such. Look around at different renders. I use Maxwell myself (It's aesthetically pleasing and it allows "bump" values to be changed). Or you can export your model to a different program such as Blender and use their node editor to combine Normals/Bump/Displacement/AO can u help me create d textures to Maxwell materials please....thanks in advance I'm just a beginner when it comes to texturing. Have a look here aswell if you don't want to create them. Hundreds of textures specifically for Maxwell all for free.

Ok I understand, but if you open the file, rather than stick it in your component library and bring it in as a component, it is an open component.

Thank you, gentlemen. All these styles have 10 lines in each of seven different lengths so there's some good variety in the lines. For those who might not know this, the appearance of a given style can be changed quite dramatically. Under the Styles Edit tab, you can adjust the parameters. Use the slider to adjust how much detail, adjust the length of extensions and so on. You can also change the appearance of a style by changing the size of the image export. For example in the image below, I've overlapped three images using the same line style. The only change I made was to the export size. In my image editor I resized the larger images to the size of the screen-size export. [image: hbre_Massingcomparison.png] It's also easy to create different line weights. In the image of the cabinet, I made an image export at screen size with Edges unticked and Profiles ticked. Then I made a second export at 4000 pixels wide with Edges ticked and Profiles unticked. The larger image was resized and pasted onto a layer set to "Multiply" in the image editor. It's a very quick and simple process which adds more variety to the style. [image: ONdH_cabinet.png]

So what would the best workflow be, considering that I'm doing buildings in SU Pro, and rendering in Kerkythea? (When necessary; a lot of our designs go out as jpgs s traight from SU, with only the more elaborate ones going through Kerkythea. Obviously, the ones that don't get rendered don't need a detailed landscape.) Also, will this handle a situation where there will need to be trees within the modeled area? For example, 2-3 buildings that have trees between them, or a courtyard with a tree completely surrounded by the building?

This reminds me of Michelle Morelan's work: http://schematiclife.blogspot.com/ She uses hand sketches with pencil and marker, and sometimes a Sketchup model as an underlay. 23 min tutorial: http://vimeo.com/groups/2Danimation/videos/13479536

I sized the textures to match the original one. I think they should be the same in the attached. Grunge Diamond Plate.zip

Ok I also had the same problem as the Burkhard, this time with Jasons sketchup materials for arroway which also has maxwell attributes. I fixed the problem by disabling SUPodium. If i re-enable SUPodium without any other plugins crashes return. I am using 32 bit SU8.0168 on a 64 bit Windows 7 and SUPodium V2.

thanks, it wasn't the tracing depth issue, but your post helped me to find out, it was transparency level default setting that was too low, i raised it to 500 and now everything is fine.
