    Hello,
It's been a while since you posted here, but maybe you'll find my response useful.
Indeed, there is no inset tool designed for non-planar quads.
    Here's some workaround:
    http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=39442&p=658977&hilit=inset#p658977

You can also take a look at Tools On Surface by Fredo. It has a tool called Offset On Surface. It will do half the job, but you'll still have to merge excess vertices manually.

    Hi

Bitdefender started reporting false positives for SUbD last week. I've submitted a False Positive report to them, hoping they'll update their definitions soon.

In regard to your recent post: can you check if C:/Users/Username/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2021/SketchUp/Plugins/TT_SUbD/libraries/2.1.7.0/2.7/win64/SUbD.so exists on your machine?

If it does, and you still get this error, can you ZIP up the C:/Users/Username/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2021/SketchUp/Plugins/TT_SUbD folder and send it to me please?

(False positives from AV software is such a pain to clean up.)

WoW! Some really great results here! Unfortunately I could not get a reference photo straight on from sideview but it seems you got great results from "eyeballing".
I learned alot from this and will use your tutorials to improve Sub divide modelling.
Thank you all for your effort ; )

What was added in v2.1.6? I cannot find an accurate changelog.

    Support for SketchUp 2021.

When only the patch version (the third digit) is updated it's only minor fixes/tweaks. Only minor and major version updates contains new features.

Hi. Are you still seeing this issue? If so, which country are you from? (And have you tried connecting via a VPN?)

Sorry, I didn't see this until now. (I stopped getting notifications for new topics.)

Are you still experiencing the crash?

If so, are you on Windows or macOS? (Which version of the OS?)

Are you also getting the BugSplat dialog? If so, did you submit it? (And did you enter anything into it that can be used to look up the crash?)

There wasn't any model attached to your post there. Did you forget?
Loops will stop at forks, where there is too many possible paths to be able to determine where it should go.

Lot of helpful stuff under the R-click button! Probably should have found that myself.

Looks I didn't learn your plugin well enough. Thank you.

For sub-components elswhere in the model - maybe a unique component would be created then?

Glad you got it sorted. The handful of triangles aren't that big a deal, just thought I'd mention them. It's actually a pretty nice model.

I've logged that as an enhancement request. Need to investigate a but further regarding some techincal details of applying creasing when the mesh isn't all triangles.

Symmetry is not possible in SU (weld+subd of two mirrored components). To subdivide the middle part you have to combine both sides in one group/comp.

Oh, I see, infinitely sharp edges override the original smooth-property of the edge. Yea - that's a bug. Thanks for reporting! I've logged it to my issue tracker and will be looking into why this happens.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Right, this is how it works now. Toggling subdivision is quite fast with SubD, however it could be even faster if assigning a shortcut was possible. By the way, I am surprised I can't see "toggle subdivision on/off" in Prefs-Shortcuts list. Is this just my machine? I already saw some missing features in that list.

Take note of the name of the menu item.

No - you where right to report this. It's a miss from my side. I don't think I personally adjusted VCB input before committing the initial mouse clicks. But my aim for my custom tools is to be similar and familiar with how SketchUp's native tool works.

(Once you start diving into custom tools you really start to appreciate how complex the native tools are - and how much attention to details has been done.)
