BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

That would be great, Chris. This would be the first step to answer these questions: Have I downloaded the maximum available detail from google earth? (the idea is that if your sample is 2500 points, it may have been resampled) What is the resolution available from google earth on the terrain? (I guess if you know you have the max, you can measure the grid?)

I am also having the same problem, and the above fixes do not work. If I use the local admin account on the system, it doesn't ask for the keychain, if I use an ldap authenticated/template account, it does ask for the keychain. I would love to deploy this application to the mac labs we have on campus, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Almost exclusively. I'm not entirely sure why 3ds Max seems to be the go-to program for arch-viz. It may be a 'better' modeler in terms of features and flexibility but it's not even close to being as intuitive as SU and SU can do 95% of what 3ds Max can do in terms of Arch-Viz modeling. I could see myself someday getting to the point where I use 3ds Max for my site work, but it's hard to find a compelling reason to model a building in 3ds Max as opposed to SU. -Brodie

You have a great talent in designing rugs. You have done a unique rug design. The color is very artistic and it really fits in the turning-design style.

Delivered today ... [image: 0xVC_Table1.jpg] same spirit I think even with though quite different support style. Also made a platform bed base with elephantine legs and demountable undercart ... [image: MkYc_Bed.jpg] and an experiment with kitchen unit units - this one for the back balcony (yet to be plumbed in) ... [image: LzPe_Balconysink.jpg] Note wood door and drawer furniture. Doors have dowels instead of hinges. All is camphorwood with raised grain and clear finish. More experiments in hand including sofa, armchairs, TV trolley, wardrobes and so on.

This should only happen the first time you open an SU7 file in SU8. It will then save the thumbnails in the fire for the next time you open it. You can cancel this on a case by case basis as you open files, but not sure if a way to globally disable it.

Are you willing to build this yourself or how much choice do you have in deciding which parts you get? About the CPU, here is a comparison of the i7 965 extreme and the 950 (I couldn't find the 960 but assume the 965 should be better) and there isn't much of a gap between the two. If it's much of a price increase I'd say you'd get more for your money elsewhere. Incidentally, that is a good place to compare different CPUs and GPUs. For the case, there are better options. If you want a nice case (good looks, noise reduction, and good ventilation) the Antec P183 would be my choice. If you want something cheaper, but still pretty nice (good ventilation, slightly cheaper build) the Antec 300 illusion would be another way to go (personally, I would cut the wire to the blue lights as they look a little 'gamer' to me -- aside from that it's a pretty clean looking case). The Sonata seems a little generic with no real functional advantages. For the graphics card, the 470 is a very good card, but also very loud and runs very hot. The 460 is not much of a drop in performance but does much better than the 470 for heat and noise. If you need more power down the road, add a second (just make sure you get a motherboard that supports this if you think you might want to do that at some point) and 2 460's beat a 480 by about 25% on average (see my previous post). For storage the Samsung Spinpoint F3 seems to be the way to go (for speed, at least). As far as CPU cooling -- I think this is a good idea. If you're investing thousands on a system spend 30 bucks and get a quality aftermarket cooler. If you ever want to overclock -- great! but even if you don't the 1366 chipset runs hot and it can only help the lifespan of the system to get one. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus seems to be the best for price/performance (at $30) but most any cooler should be better than the stock cooler. Here's a list comparing various coolers -- this is based around the 1156 chipset but most of these (the 212, specifically) will work for 1366 as well. In case someone's not familiar with them: 1366 = i7 9xx family of processors 1156 = i5 7/8xx family I hope I'm not overwhelming you with information but this is something I've been researching for a while for when I can afford a system.

I find this to happen when I build models based on imported DWG data. I suspect there are some microscopic precision errors that at times cause this very annoying issue to happen.

@jim said: Dale, you can select a version when you use "Save As" Thanks Jim ... Now I can add this to my "Why I'm dumber than a Hoe file" Honolulu I was quite surprised at the changes that Collada made as I hadn't really heard anything bad about it. As for dxf/dwg I'v always fought with this format.
