@hassanykb: Are you talking about photorealistic renders, perhaps? Or are you talking about all lines in an elevation being the desired length? These questions lead to two different paths. What is your experience level with this program?

The Alt key+ Move is called Autofold. Search for this in Sketchup tutorials. What it does in practice is: Sometimes you can click on a vertex and try to move it, but it seems to be locked in one direction defined by the edges and faces it is adjacent to. You want to move the vertex to a particular location that is not coplanar and not colinear with those adjacent parts. Autofold makes new edges, folding the faces so that the vertex can move freely, and keep the geometry "faced". I hope that makes sense. It is a very handy device for closing volumes or aligning end faces of push pull overshots or follow me overshots. I hope THAT makes sense.

Add this to list: Delete internal faces and edges concealed within the model volume if not pertinent to final result. That means editing groups, components, or loose geometry intersecting, piercing, or enveloping other stuff.

For my room interior projects I have created a template that has all the ortho views in place as scenes, together with their accompanying vertical and horizontal section planes, so that if I model the room around the origin, the needed views are all ready, all I need to do is slightly adjust the section plane locations. J-O, I would suggest that you might consider showing samples of what you are doing, either full or partial drawings / models. I personally find it much easier to offer advise on a SU situation when looking at the drawing / model. My eyes start to glaze over a bit when reading long lists and I imagine the same goes for some others here. Just a thought! Mike

If you have SU7.1 Free install the DWG importer: http://sketchup.google.com/download/plugins.html#dwg (make sure you keep a copy of it.)

Type this into the ruby console: require_all("G:\Plugins") just make sure all of you're plugins are in "G:\Plugins" You're flash drive might not be named "G", in which case, you would need to type the letter of you're flash drive. require_all("F:\Plugins") Or, require_all("H:\Plugins")

Hi folks - thanks for the replies. I have been giving the plugins some trials without much success. For the record, it will only work for the smallest selection areas but will crash otherwise. I had better luck going with a typical 'from contours' surface even though it was less accurate.
