@massimo said: Looks great indeed. A less sharp lighting maybe? I mean more soft shadows. And perhaps you could lower a bit the camera in order to not cut the chairs legs. Thanks mate! As mentioned I'll adjust the lighting after I've rendered the final - very bang in your face at the moment! The image is for one of the cover shots, hence the reason for so much ceiling and less leg! The image rolls under the header so the ceiling is lost! Actually I'll be adjusting all that for crop(ability) in the final so it can be used later print use. [image: 0ur8_Untitled-2.jpg]

I'm afraid you'll have to wait a while, I've packed all my computers away, down to one tiny steam driven laptop and a phone. So no work from me until I'm back in the wide brown land, which could take a while. Cross country from east Germany to London for my as yet unbooked flight home could take a while. Have to polish up the hitching thumb. P.S. as far as detail goes did you see Tinkerbell. http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=333%26amp;t=54937

Thanks Richard. You had good fortune with those chairs, then. As to the dowels, that's purely a guess on my part although maybe an educated one. I have a copy of an old book that shows construction methods for modern furniture along with dimensioned "plans" for quite a few pieces. By far, the most common joinery method shown is dowels. I know they had machines back then to drill multiple holes at the same time and holes would be a lot easier and faster to drill than cutting mortises and tenons. I think mortise and tenon joinery would be stronger and if I were building it, that's what I would use. Well, I might use the Festool Domino and loose tenon joinery. I found that the slats are held in position on the dowels with screws driven in from below. This would make it quick and easy to assemble in a factory setting.

@okomta said: could you show the line mesh ?,,how to separate the parts? ( doors and body),,bumpers, front engine door?),,sorry to much ask,,,:D How to do it? I do it manually. If you mean separating components, I usually explode the whole mesh (in the RS5 case) and deleted meshes that connected the door with the rest of the body, then reconstructed it. Also you can do it using the smooth command to unsmooth faces, after that it shows you the reference line and you can unite the faces in a component. When you get a blank model you need to make it all clean from scratch. It has every part connected since many models are imported from games, not edited, just imported and saved as .3ds, .c4d, .max files.

not DAZ but I've done it with poser. It worked well, but I've had to find good materials for the rendering that wasn't easy because I'm not so experienced with the Material Tab in poser

I think you are pushing SU farther away than what it's made for. SU is unbeatable for buildings, but leave it alone for other projects. Those things are better built in some other app, such as Blender. I've also done something in Poser (but that's not free, even if it is quite cheap). Have a look at this video, I think you can't go any better than that ... http://www.blenderguru.com/videos/create-a-realistic-earth/

Thanks John. For that last one I really just wanted the end on view. I like the way the light plays on those diamonds.

The circumference of a glass base is always larger or equal to its height for that reason. You will look at some glasses and doubt it but it's true

Bryan it is a WIP as there are more things to be done to it. Since this is only for me and not a client I build with things I find so my designs change with what I can buy in Goodwill or find on the curb on trash pickup day. That's the way we old people without sufficient income roll.
