Not forgetting... that the file you add into the Plugins folder, must be called something like " SDM-expsel2jpg**.rb**" - in order for it to auto-load as SketchUp starts... AND also, equally importantly, it must be encoded as " UTF-8_without_BOM". On a PC - Notepad.exe will NOT do this - it will be encoded as ANSI, this will break SketchUp >v8 ! But if you have a free tool installed like Notepad++.exe - then that will either encode its as you need [depending on the app's settings], OR you can at least change the file's encoding to suit using menu items. On a Mac, TextEdit/ TextWrangler should pre-encode the file as you need...

Great plug-in idea. However, I discovered a problem when working with one of my dynamic components when your plug-in is loaded. I started getting hard crashes of Sketchup when I change a parameter that changed the number of copies of a subcomponent. It is so bad that the bug-splat screen doesn't even display. Unloading your plug-in fixes the problem for me. I can send you the dynamic component if it will help. I am using the Sketchup Pro 15.3.331 64-Bit.

Of course yes @unknownuser said: Curves and surfaces can be saved to 3DM, IGES, STEP, and SAT formats. A hidden line drawing can be saved to the PDF, AI, or DXF formats for printing or transfer to 2D illustration or 2D CAD programs. Polygon mesh data can be saved to OBJ, STL, 3DS, LWO, FBX, and SKP formats. @unknownuser said: MoI supports reading in curve and surface data from 3DM, IGES, STEP, and SAT files. 2D curves can be opened from PDF and AI files, and curves and drafting entities like lines, circles, and arcs can be opened from DXF files. Moi can import Sat then export in SKP file! Just a detail: if you have not a "single object" but numerous objects named inside Moi prefer the 3DS format against SKP format for Sketchup! In Sketchup Explode one time the result! Like this you can have many components named object 01, object 02 inside Sketchup! And use the Comparaison components by Thomthom for reconstruct similar components as "Instances" if you have starting stricly identic compoenents! (because Moi has not yet instances ! ) And you have now the inverse! You can import OBJ file then subdivide it in Moi! SKetchup -->obj By Tig for free version of Sketchup Import OBJ --> Moi by Max Smirnov Export OBJ from Moi (Quad + Triangle) By Michael Gibson Import OBJ --> Moi by Max Smirnov Subdiv Max Smirnov Not Ngones! [image: 9292594_orig.jpg] Only quad + tri ! [image: 1112342_orig.jpg] [image: 9652280_orig.jpg]

@cadfather said: yes, i posted the code so you'd be sure of the one i used. notice i took out the '../' from the 2 folders paths (start of script) - which made the script look in the directory above to the comps folder. (so it only works on su8) if you put the folders in the same directory as the script it works. at least it does for me (check the case matches too) need to look more into to see why it doesn't when you change the path to full (ie. "c/Program Files/SketchUp...etc etc) OK now i understand it works for me also muchas gracias i shall try to change the path too...

Hi Larv, Sorry for the late answer, did not see you question before. Probably you alredy found the answer. When you place grass, it is added to model in proxy mode (only skeleton lines). You need to redraw your tree/plants to get them in full mode and they will be rendered. You can switch back with one click to proxy mode once rendered, to keep your model not so big and not to slow while working on other parts of your model. Yours Pascal

Yes, Fredo, I think it would be very worthwhile to release it as standalone plugin.

Yes, with the native FollowMe you need the profile face to be square to the first segment of the path. My ExtrudeEdgesByFace will actually do that for you [doh!]

It's free like a razor is free: buying the components at $4 - $9 each will add up very quickly. @unknownuser said: A DIY package will soon be available for those who want to create there own components and apply the iDrawnics features. This will make things much more attractive. In any event, this sure beats 3skeng's hefty yearly "rental" fees for the components.

@fountainhead said: You need to change one line of code at the end of some of Didier's scripts to work with 2014 and 2015, unfortunately I don't remember what that small change was. Message Tig, I think he suggested the easy fix. Thanks, I'll do a search, I am almost sure I saw something about that, now that you reminded me. Thanks for the reply. Ken
