    So far nothing quite does what I need. I need this to work on all all selected components, nested as well.

    Hello. I'm trying to launch the Stair Maker plugin in SketchUp 2017. I get this error Error: #<NameError: uninitialized class variable @@ss_height in SDM::Stair_Maker> C:/Users/Silent_ip/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2017/SketchUp/Plugins/StairMaker/StairMaker.rb:287:in put_defaults' C:/Users/Silent_ip/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2017/SketchUp/Plugins/StairMaker/StairMaker.rb:84:in reset' C:/Users/Silent_ip/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2017/SketchUp/Plugins/StairMaker/StairMaker.rb:54:in initialize' C:/Users/Silent_ip/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2017/SketchUp/Plugins/StairMaker/StairMaker.rb:9:in new' C:/Users/Silent_ip/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2017/SketchUp/Plugins/StairMaker/StairMaker.rb:9:in block in <top (required)>' SketchUp:1:in call' Code

    Yes a solution without a special target-component would be nice. I have to say that all "random" selection plugins strangely seem to have the same conception of "randomness". I always get high amounts of "clumping", that i have to fix manually.

    Hello Jim, Off lately your link to download this plugin doesn't work, there must be some issue here. cause when I search for the same it shows no result in the store. Now I am at a dead end with my work.

    Thanks for coming back to me.. I like the idea of grabbing things and copying sideways. If I did this at each step and saved, I wouldn't have so many files in the project folder, as back up in case of crashes.. and it does just crash my end, when applying the quadmesh procedure. As I mentioned earlier, if I can get isocontours from a points cloud, export these to and mark up in CAD, I am still ahead of the game... Ta

    It requires your help to place several commands in a single icon, as shown by the "Fredo Tools" plugin. How is it done in Ruby?. Blessings

    This is a GREAT plug in! By the way the only way I know to install it is to copy the AT_set_standard_views.rb file to the Plugins folder.

    I dont think so just lines but its really quick and has worked for me without problems even on grouped nested geometries. Just go to top view and set camera to parallell and slice four slices. I have sometimes drawn some guide lines that I snap to when slicing. You can try the demo for free.

    @faust07 said: En premier lieu, la désintégration pourrait être une conséquence de la géométrie concave de certaines pièces. Par exemple, les pièces avec des trous oblongs devraient être composées d’éléments convexes individuels. Il y a un plugin pour Fredo6. Vous devez activer "Collision Wireframe" dans l'interface utilisateur de MSPhysics sous Debug Draw et tester la précision géométrique de votre modèle. Bonne chance! (Google Translator) In the first place, the falling apart could be a consequence of the concave geometry of some parts. For example, parts with slotted holes should be composed of individual convex elements. There is a plugin for Fredo6. You should activate "Collision Wireframe" in the MSPhysics UI under "Debug Draw" and test your model for geometric accuracy. I wish you success! OK, Merci beaucoup pour ces conseils !!! Je les mets en application dés que je peux et je vous redis si ca marche

    It would have been a good idea to post this report in the tool's main thread. I almost missed this. Without your problem SKP itself, then who can tell what's actually happening? Is it failing on every SKP or one in particular ? How does it 'crash' ? e.g. it hangs, it bugsplat, it shows a zero volume result ? It works fine for me. It is possible to devise two solids which when one is subtracted produces a non-solid. Since the API uses the Solid-tools as a basis, please try doing a manual subtraction of one from the other - make a copy of the two solids beforehand and also do the opposite subtraction if the first succeeds. There might be some tiny difference in the volumes creating ultra-thin slivers in the subtractions, thereby causing issues ?? Do you still have v2 to retry ? The licensing regime doesn't change with version. So reinstalling v2 over v3 will probably work ?

    I don't know if this is the right place to request for this. But please can someone send me the s4u-to-component v3.0.0 or v4? Or any free sketchup plugin that has the component replace option. Thanks very much

    @tig said: You usually get a better response when you post in any tool's main thread... That said... It's a 3-point rectangle. [Read the status-bar prompts] Click the 2d-rectangle's start-corner. Next click the second-point to set the rectangle's first side [you can also type a dimension + enter]. Finally click a third-point to set the rectangle's second side [you can also type a dimension + enter]. Note in some locales you might use a . instead of a , as the decimal-separator. e.g. 1.234 >>> 1,234 And also the locale's list-separator changes from a , to a ; That's not how it works on my SketchupMake2016 (free). I click the first point, then click on the second point and type a number into the measurements box. When I click on the third point I can type another number into the measurements box, but the numbers don't seem to have any effect upon the length of the sides of the rectangle. When I select the regular sketchup dimension tool, the various boxes I have drawn have no relationship to one another. For instance if I draw a rectangle that is supposed to be 36 units high and 4 units wide and then select the dimension tool, it might show anything from 45 high to 7 29/32 wide. Another box drawn with the same 36x4 dimension might show up as 8-5/32 x 45-1/2. There is just no consistency at all. I am sure the tool is behaving as it is supposed to, but I just don't understand how to make it draw a box of the dimensions that I want. vern
