Instantly is impossible. Even Copy+Paste takes time depending on how much you copied.

I suppose you could use a dialog to set up a pattern like /^Glass-blue/ For material name that starts with 'Glass-blue'. Or /[Gg]lass/ for any material name containing the text 'Glass' or 'glass' etc etc... You can eval the pattern string in a gsub() on each materials name... Then you can iterate through the Model's Materials and find all of the ones with 'matching names' as an array. Then you can apply a Name+R+G+B+A[+texture+size] which is initially read from the first match in the array... and offered for 'adjustment' in a second dialog... On OK all of the matches are 'consolidated to 'Name' using the set R/G/B/A..values etc and the rest of the matching materials are replaced with 'Name' and then 'purged'...

After running a search on compatibility files I read one of the older threads, http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=17947&p=203864&hilit=Compatibility+files#p203864 that mentioned that the Smustard Organizer plugin caused errors similar to the ones I was having with LibFredo6 instead of the compatibility files system being the perpetrator. I tested this theory by changing the file extensions of Organizer.rb, SmustardOrganizerExcludeFolders.txt, and restarted SketchUp 3 times without an error message. It doesn't make sense that all the other plugins loaded without a problem. The last plugin I installed, LibFredo6 caused error messages, but first plugin installed, Organizer caused the problem. Another thing that doesn't make sense is the compatibility files system. When I deleted the organizerEdit.log from the virtualstore directory, the compatibility files button on the explorer window dissappered, but I didn't delete the defparms folder (contained no files) and the twilight folder (only contained the twilight license). Why would the compatbility files button dissapear even though not all of the content has been deleted?

Added current selection of components to all components in the model in this update along with an improved user interface.

The second is an old url we changed a year and a half ago. Still points to the same post just it shows as if you were not logged in. If using the first link and still having issues, delete all sketchucation related cookies from your browser (hopefully you are not using IE as it is a pain there).
