Weird, I responded to this last night using "quick reply" but it must not have posted. Anyways, I couldn't delete the texture but what I did was simply adjust the RGB to black for that one material and that worked perfectly! Thank guys, really appreciated!

It's certainly not something you can set from inside LO mate! ๐Ÿ˜ž

Oh ya, my content is quite far from the origin. I did not purposely do it but just randomly develop this drawings from some old drawing. Thanks for giving me the advice.

I have the 2014 package with me, but when I model in Sketchup I prefer using Sketchup 8 as it is more handy and I have less plugin with it, which can make my computer faster.

    Thank you very much!

You can edit the dimension extension lines by double clicking on the dimension and then selecting the extension line. Change the End Arrow: value to change the length and Start Arrow: to change the space between the extension line and the point you're dimensioning to.

Also take a look at the drop down for the end style. Notice there are several straight line options. If you've got the first one selected, it'll be different from the last one in the list.

Hybrid is the rendering option for a SU model reference inside LO. If the SU model dialog window shows "hybrid" in the lower right, then that model will output (print, pdf etc.) as hybrid. It's not a sort of export.

Hybrid is a rendering of the SU model so that the edges are vectorized (relatively hard and sharp lines) and the textures and shadows and other SU raster effects are still visible.

an all purpose, all singing and dancing package like ArchiCAD?

archicad is pretty popular where i live, i think is also more widely used than revit..i can say in recent times 50% of my work is complete/fix/edit archicad models which they can't or are not good enough to finish in on their end, mostly for freeform stuff, furniture, vegetation, terrain.. i'm not pretty sure taht archicad is "all purpose" at all.. i would say it has HUGE limitations when it comes to freeform modeling.. or maybe that people here doesn't know how to use the software.. so that's good for me.. ๐Ÿ˜„
so while they are "singing and dancing" (and struggling with basic freeform modeling), i model 10 time faster than they do and with less limitation, maybe you are right for the documentation side.. i don't know, is not my job. but as a pure modeler i would say sketchup is WAY better than archicad.

btw the two software have a whole different approach so the comparison is quite unfair..

Thanks for the replies. I am going now without relinking after having worked home and return to office and see if they sync back up. It is good to understand the 'absolute path' and will match that path in the future.

At first I thought it was "seeing through" the back face of the bottom of the yellow box, but removing the face doesn't help. I don't know why the same pure color is not seen in LO, at the overhanging corners. Seems wrong that LO does not represent the SU view. Maybe there's another trick.

Also, for more control, try using grey for some lines in skp. Just make sure that the style you use has lines set to by material and try painting faces, instead of groups/components.

No, the tray is the area on the right with the different inspector windows. Well, it's on the right by default but perhaps you've closed it so you aren't familiar with it?

If the measurements box in the lower right corner isn't displayed, very likely you need to maximize the window so the bottom of the window isn't dropping below the bottom of the screen.

Thank you Rich & Dave. I had this exact problem yesterday & I hadn't appreciated that you could type in a scale for inserted bitmaps.

Under preferences/general - unclick automatically re-render. This still keeps the link, but you decide when you update it.

If you are printing to a good PDF writer (adobe acrobat eg), you can create alternative settings to the default in which to can nominate the downsampling of colour or greyscale images. This way substitution of in model textures isn't an issue!

No worries, Zain. Maybe in the future try using TIG's SectionCutFace plugin.
