Morisdov, You are right. I tried from another computer and it works fine. Must be the firewall I have on my laptop. Thanks Fredo

Pixero, Another solution is simply to draw the cursor as a circle with the method view.draw2d available in View class at the position of the cursor (this is how I do for my protractors). You just adjust the size of your circle based on your current parameters. To make the Sketchup cursor disappear, I guess the best would be to have an 'empty' png file (or a cross or whatever you want to design the hot spot) Fredo

In your Plugins/Examples folder, there is a script named animation.rb. It is a good reference for using the Animation class.

@unknownuser said: . . . first manually subdivide the geometry yourself . . . I thought that was the reason for getting the script, so it would do that for you? SketchUp allows me to do whatever I want pretty quick, so, it's no problem. I need to figure out how to use this fantastic script the right way - I'm still finding the script to be fascinating, providing me a very quick way to define complex geometry with ease. Happy Sketching, Brad (hey, I have my own emoticon now, thanks)

Thanks for the Bridge! Putting puts all around is what I'm doing now, painfully. Really looking forward to the SU debugger.

Need to use a UVHelper - set the middle coordinate of the texture to be the same as the middle coordinate of the face (is one way).

I don’t go to the corner bar because of the political BS , truthers and the free energy speeches/conversations; could we please keep the political BS out of the rest of the forum? Or maybe not, since I am breaking the request myself. @igor said: and since when is our moronic president a sketchup user? does he use it to design weapons to obliteraite what tiny scraps are left of the iraqi government? or to make plans to tottaly screw over the entire economy and education system? hopefuly, this is only your user name, and you are not the loony that is our president. i, however, have no idea how to help you with your converter problem. ask Solo.

hi bobu, the OBJImporter.rb plugin doesn't work always well with such models (besides that it takes a long time to convert the model) I'd suggest to use Wings 3d, which is opensource and free to make the conversion. It has always worked well for me. http://www.wings3d.com/ /matteo

Thanks for the responses. I have persevered with the dialog.execute_script because this seems right and proper, but I think at least for the moment I have to fall back on the exception business - probably try ... catch rather than window.external as I use that a lot during development stages. Thanks again. Chris

This sounds brilliant Adam. Great to see that a BIM software function is possible within Sketchup.
