Just thought id add a few more to the list. Colour Index- Essentialy just a big list of colours that go well together, very useful when your feeling skint for ideas though. How to be a graphic designer, without losing your soul- essentially a collection of ones persons tips and advice on working in the design industry, quite a stimulating read.

I have the same problem. There are a number of tutorials on the Unwrap 3D site but they don't get to the crux of what I want to understand quickly enough. HEre is the link nonetheless http://www.unwrap3d.com/tutorials.aspx

Juju, I think you are probably correct in your concept of what real time rendering means is this case. Here is a link to an almost identical scene as the first animation, but the shadows are clearly there in the first part of animation, which I think shows it is rendering with shadows rather quickly. http://blip.tv/file/1144509

I've got three "duh" moments in my family: Ages ago, I took a July trip to Florida with the parental units to visit the granparents. We took my niece along to take her to Disney World and meet "Noky-no" (pinochio) - she was about 3 or 4 at the time. My dad was keen into photography at the time was eager to get lots of photos of her there. It was a day of non-stop misery 'cause this kid was frightened of every ride, of all the characters, and in general was very trying. But we did get some good shots with the camera. And then we get back to the hotel, and my dad realized during the entire time he had failed to put film in the camera! The next day, on the way home, we stopped at DW again just so he could get pictures of her there. Second story - I was traveling with my aunt and uncle. We had stopped at a rest stop, where they switched sides so she could drive. She complained that she couldn't get the car to work. She forgot to start it! Third - Another, recent trip with my parents to meet someone. Afterwards it was decided I would drive back. I get behind the wheel and try to start the car - it won't start. I keep trying, until my father informs me the car was already running (they have a luxury car - from inside you cannot hear or feel the engine running)

I use SnagIt from TechSmith - it has an option to scroll windows to capture them. Very useful for long lists like that. Bob

1: What do you mean by wavy lines? Depends on the resolution you'll print at- ironically the worse the resolution the more reduced the moire effect will be (it should blur it out a bit). Applying a gaussian blur in PS will help, but it's better to fix it at the source- increase the "HSph. Subdivs" setting in the Irradiance Map menu in VRay- it increases render times pretty much proportionally, e.g. 100 takes twice as long as 50, but for certain models (lots of detail, very moirey textures, etc). An HSph. Subdivs setting of 100 is usually enough to reduce moire of brick patterns for example, occasionally I've gone up to 200 if I really need to pick out details, especially in reflective materials.

Ive owned a car for about a year now, and the rising fuel costs are making me reconsider owning it. There is no parking at work, and parking on the street outside is about €16 per day (and technically, i have to move it every 3 hours). Commute by bicycle, its the only option! I cycle 20km a day to work, 3 times faster than a bus stuck in traffic or in the car. Always arrive on time too.. So I have a car sitting at home. I think it might be time for it to go, but, unfortunately, nobody here wants to buy cars these days. Damn.

Ouch! That clipping is really a pity (I'm kind of getting used to the shadow bug though ) Apart from these, it is nice, indeed.

@goon of doom said: Ponder this. Maybe what is bad is your attitude.? If you look at for what is good. Applying your craft if you have one? look at billable hours. Thats what i was trying to get at. Is there such a thing as a project that you really dont enjoy just because of the subject of the topic? or can you make everything fun and interesting if you approach it with the right attitude?

Well..when u want to irrigate your tomatos(plants) and u are waiting for the water at the end of the ditch and the water goes in a hole made by the mole u definitelly don t want to let it alive(if u can catch it). The only good thing that they make is the earth wich they pull out of their tunnels,is verry rich and is good for flowers. And another good thing is that they feed with mole cricket(http://farm1.static.flickr.com/154/430697715_faff1282fa.jpg?v=0)and other harmfull insects. [image: cartita.jpg]

Yes Scott, you can definitely convert VOB files into all sorts of formats. I regularly convert VOB files into DV format, so I edit them in Final Cut Pro, or whatever. You can convert to either FLV or SWF, too.
