Great start, but I agree with Marcus (aka d12dozr) in the points mentioned... In particulat the very strong bump on the floor... You'll soon learn that it actually doesn't take much to make really great looking and photo realistic renders... Details in your model and correct material set-up is - in my personal experience - the most important part... The background (outside the window) looks weird and another high resolution hdri- or IBL image can change A LOT in the final render... I've taken the liberty to make a quick tone-mapping and white balance adjustment using Adobe Lightroom - hope you don't mind... [image: QEgs_test-su-2.jpg]

Hi Scott, You're absolutely right. I guess it's like having a Ferrari and only testing it in first gear. With that in mind I've gone away and played a bit more with various scenes and have come up with the attached. I think these are a lot better representation of the quality of the render engine. I'd be the first to point out that I'm not the best at this in the world but I think it shows what an average user can create quickly and easily. Thanks for your reply. Hi Guys, I know this is an old post but just came across it and thought I'd have a crack at it. Arion render, 45 mins with about 10 mins setup. Feedback is always appreciated. Regards, Puck [image: PSHd_Caronairfield.jpg]

All, thanks for the kind words. I hope to post some workflow / process stuff on how I tweak textures, light and render my different passes and combine them for animations. Stay tuned.

Hi Rick Apologies...I should have scrolled across to see the full extent of your image before commenting above. Composition: Good frame proportion although I would still stick to 2 point perspective and get a bit more foreground in if possible. Render: I hear what you say about client requests...you just gotta go with it. If they are happy then it's a job well done. Entourage: Still think it would be great to add life here and there. All the best

@solo said: I did a project recently that included a similar view, I used Thea and a panorama as image based lighting (hdri), (renders were not good enough however and did not get the job) WTF! Mate what do you mean, firstly that is a stunning render and second - did you do that much work with the aim of getting the job? Christ who beat you to the punch? Stack studio or someone like that? Man we ARE all screwed!

Very cool. One of the reasons I'm learning SU is to make preliminary designs for my own design of a flying car. (wow, does that sound geeky or what?)

You should adjust your saturation levels so you don't get the green tint on everything. Try this: under indirect illumination, try a saturation value of .3 [image: wkkz_tet.jpg] [image: tlos_screen-capture.jpg]

Hi mitcorb, yes ..the DOF in image 3 was intenional. I would love to render it with my vray for SU but SU keep crashing when caching, and I do not know yet how to add DOF in vray. I tried but without succes. Richard, Thank you very much for the tips. I didn't notice that it was the geometry acting weird by that last edge..I thought it was the refelctions . I will try to fix the model let it cook and post again. Coremaster110, I agree about the position of the speaker legs. I will try to add more angle for the legs. Thank you very much for your CC.
