Hey I work like two blocks from there, neat! It's this a proposed project or something else (school, just for fun, etc..)? I've love to see something happen there.

Thank you lapx. In the scene, the lighting source is not visible, but you can see in the rendered image where the light spread is near the top of the walls is in the offsets. I added these for more lighting within the scene, but it was a part of the schematic layout. Artificially lit renderings always seem to need some exaggeration to properly light the scene.

Bloody hell! What a great job!! Good on you mate for trying out that combo and achieving straight up a pretty darn convincing image, can I say this though without offending - darn ugly truck, looks like a beast!

Well, Chris: It was an interesting approach to the project. No reason why this technique could not be used in a presentation in the right circumstances, with a few more frames dedicated to flesh out the ideas. Very creative. I took a Landscape course one time that dealt with methods of presentation, which was more geared toward advertising art, since we were required among other things, to promote common products, such as steak sauce, beer, and so forth. We took these concepts forward with several small landscape sketch projects. Very enjoyable course.

A new project. It's a cave-in-a-cliff. I made the cave by making a floor plane (With grid) and smooving a pit in it. Then rotated the whole mesh 90 degrees along green. And then I added the ground. Made it the same way, of course, minus the rotating. Now for some screenshots. Yeah I had lots of lego as a kid still a huge crate of it in the loft. It as hard work to put it together but I thought the end result (the exploded view) was fantastic! It came out much better than I had pictured in my head. This small go kart project was only a prelude to the larger one I am currently attempting. Sort of a trial run to see how it could be achieved. The presentation style was the trick I use for illustrating my SU models, http://liam887.wordpress.com/tutorials/ however there is also a podium render blended it to give the reflections of the pieces on the semi reflective surface.

great job, jo-ke, perhaps an emitting plane outside the skylight to boost the lighting there, or just increasing brightness of the sky would have worked. putting a render next to a real photo is always risky... but it's a great way to learn/hone your skills.
