@Mike-Amos said in Hot Rod: Are we going to see anything new from you sometime? Been thinking about posting some of the many historic one-off vehicles I have done. Did the only two remaining active sea tractors, both with very interesting histories. Here's a couple shots of the South Sands Sea Tractor [image: 1767228958262-2019-04-01_185212.png] [image: 1767229094789-2022-08-18_061411-b-recovered.png]

Hey Pete, LOVE IT! Talk soon. Dave P.S. I noticed that some members have standard tag lines at the end of their signatures ... many of them prophetic and thought provoking (seriously). So I thought I'd try one out for size: "To idiot drivers: OBJECTS IN YOUR MIRROR ARE MORE PISSED OFF THAN THEY APPEAR!"

Yes...true about the name. My biz journey is getting there slowly. I just bought VRay and now need the time and some small projects to learn the program. I currently run a mill work shop for a custom trade show graphics and exhibit company. Eventually I'd like to get to the point where I'm doing prototyping and fabricating for product design and custom furniture. I will be buying Modo next month and continue adding to my programs. Any advise you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks Adam. Jeff

roger, you have the reason, this little space empty, sterile, but it was simply a design decision to not neglect or lack of desire, do not worry. I think that would be something nice to see the changes with some more space

Calvin, I think those are great models but I am not as enthusiastic about the lighting as the other reviewers. For one thing I would expect soemr refelction on the floor from the recessed ceiling lights unless it is carpeted.Next I would turn on that big handging light over the Buddha and make sure its color temp was quite warm to contrast with the cold daylight. I would also brighten the hallway. My impression that the default settings many people use results in interiors that are way too dark. I feel better about the lighting in the blue room, but it might be useful to think less like an architect and more like an interior designer. The room crys out to be accessorized. Even if a modern simplicity is the goal you should consider adding elements like some plants to create foreground framing which will add more depth to the picture. Less is more except in those cases where more is more. This could be one of those cases. put some plates dishes and flowers on the table. Someone said they were afraid of distracting the viewer. For me, I want to distract the viewer and lead the viewer to an exciting visual experience. Zen gardens are the ultimate in simplicity, but they are also powerful and dynamic in leading the viewer to predefined experiences. All said and done, I like both renders, but they could be more exciting. I can just hear the clock ticking in an empty space.Yo have the modeling and rendering aced. To go higher, I would tackle lighting, depth and a touch of drama.

I think we should care a little more background image, are tall buildings from above, it appears that your room is at 1000 meters altitude, is trying to accommodate that to give a better appearance to the scene and that the window is very important scene

the tiled backgroud is intentional, and the floating woman is an issey miyake model. I like graphics that are a bit surreal.

In this tutoral it explains that hypershot can use normal maps for a 3d look on textures. http://www.bunkspeed.com/hypershot/tutorials/TexturedMaterials/ and also mentions of a psp plugin for creating normal maps which is here: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html#downloads

That was supposed to be some kind of a joke (combined with an unintentional typo to make it more obscure)

First, I would go to this link and go through the basic training of learning after effects. http://www.videocopilot.net/basic/ Because, if you dont, then you may not know what I am going to explain. But what you need to do is create a new composition and then import all your scenes into the project, but make sure when you do that, that you import them as a sequence (there should be a little check box for this when look to find your files for the import). Then you need to drag this from your project panel to your composition. After you do that, you need to render/export your animation. I typically use quicktime movies. Like I said, watch the training, because that will definately explain this more clearly than I can. If there is anyhthing else I can help with, just let me know.

Adam, these last two are winners. Might want to add a backdrop of sorts on the first one. Nice pool! Don't see many around these parts.
