OP is talking about the Gouraud shading(I think that is what it's called) that OpenGL exhibits when viewing objects/faces obliquely, especially in an un-textured or colored model. In essence, he wants a primitive emitter in Sketchup. Or--that's what I get from one reading EDIT: if emitter is not the correct term, then the ability to selectively apply or not, the OpenGL native shader.

Have you tried reinstalling SketchUp?

There's also the native Flip commands. I set up keyboard shortcuts for those and they satisfy most of my needs for mirroring components.

The import is only bringing in edges but to run Push/Pull you must have faces. If you trace over an edge segment with the line tool and that segment is part of a closed loop, you should get a face. You could try the Make Faces plugin to speed up the process. If the edges don't make truly closed loops, you won't get faces, though.

Sundad; If you have reason to invest in the Pro version other than the issue herein then by all means , but it seems the version you are using now should allow a better result. Suggest you post your model as requested before. Curious your comment about fonts bad on different machine. Does that mean the one you used for drawing creation OK?
