I am using the free version. If my issue is solved by going to the Pro, I'll do that.

I've read numerous posts on printing issues, and tried everything shown. No luck

I have a very basic design. It is circular with a diameter of 5". I have set Sketchup to parallel projection and top view. When I go into print preview, I do not check to size it to the page nor the extents. The scale is 1 to 1.

I am printing to 8.5 x 11 paper. However, SU splits the drawing over 2 pages, with about a half of the drawing on each page, and lots of white space on each. The drawing is the right size on paper, though. I have made sure that the drawing window is zoomed to extents, so there is little white space.

I can print to a pdf printer that I have set up, but I need to set the paper size to 11 x 17. Then I can crop it and print to 8.5 x 11, but I'm hoping that there is a way around all that.

      I am running windows 7.

      tks for any advice

      Grant

I've done several tutorials on this in the past.

The easiest thing to do is to use the Pro version and LayOut with which you can make a scaled view and then a PDF but you can do it from SketchUp directly. The not so obvious thing about it is that you need to resize the drawing window to fit the proportions of the paper or at least get it close. Use Zoom Extents to get the model to fill the window. Probably, if you reduce the width of the drawing window a bit you'll be in good shape. Fortunately with SU2013, the toolbars won't cause you problems as you resize the drawing window like earlier versions experienced.

            Hi.
You may have missed Dave's links in his response: [You might check out this, this and this.] Each "this" is a link.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

I did read Dave's message too quickly. Tks, Tim.

Those links were very helpful. Tks much, Dave.

I'm looking forward to being able to download the add-on that you did a preview of in your most recent link. It looks like it will make things much easier.

I agree. It will make things much easier. The author is working out a few things so the plugin will work correctly on both PC and Mac platforms. Then I expect we'll see it.

Dave: I'm quite new to Sketchup and the add-on process. Will this add-on be available through the Sketchucation store, do you know? Otherwise, I assume that I can search for it from time to time and grab it when it's available.

Grant, I expect the plugin will be available here on SCF. When it is available I will post an update on the blog but I expect it'll also get posted here.
