hi you all, i tried to open two sektchup files at the same time. as soon as i copied an object or two from one file to another, sketchup crashed. it's frustrating. is it because my graphics card, or i havn't set the best setting to maximize my computer power?

one trick i did was i change one of the two files to display wireframe mode and it didn't crash. i wonder if 3ds max will crash under the same circustances. or just sketchup easier to crash?

hi you all, i've been testing different settings for creating the sharpest images in vray sketchup. i want to know if you guys can offer some tips. still not sure which setting is the key to sharpest image. maybe the image resolution has to be 1080p?

hi you all, another beginner question here: i want to know how to move object locally (along it's own axis). i know the wikii tools/combine editor can probably work and axes tool in sketchup can annoying when it can't snap to good angle the result can't be bad.

ya, if you guys have a better plugin let me know. so i can move happily locally.

my thoughts:
1.i didn't set the blurry reflection to 0.6 though, it's too much it kills the reflection. i set it about 0.85. i guess it depends.
2. think texture map = photoshop mask. that helps me understand the concept in this situation.

Hi you all, i think if it's possible to use a a image/alpha mask that create blurry and clear mirror effect. can someone show me how to do it step by step?

i tired to use vector file from adobe illustrator then the pattern which was curve became straight lines.

i need to creat velvet material and i think i can use angular blend material . i can't find any video tutorials anywhere. and the text tutorial is sparse as well. i wonder if someone can detail a step by step tutorial here. or share some helpful links. thanks in advance. though i guess i can just download velvet material somewhre.

hi you all, i wonder if it's possible to bevel an edge into two edges like in other traditional 3d softwares? i have to move an edge to thee middle of a face, then copy that edge to the left and right to create equal edges. check the ref images, if my description confuses you.

hi you all, i have trouble creating or finding this material for vray sketchup. this is suppoesed to be shimmery glistening with highlight reflection. it's not just simple reflective material. can anyone help?thanks

i wonder should i set texfresnel on reflection if i want to have grey or dark mirror effect??

ya...i agree..i just tested it out using very high setting 10000-20000...seemed to work. maybe i will get a nice ies light later.

i just installed vray2.0, and i don't know if i have to plug in the usb dongle forever. can i unplug it. will it still work??

wow...i feel good that my frustration is shared by other more users as well. i wasted many hours fixing instead of enjoying vray 1.49.01. also Glad to hear that vray 2.0 has no bugs like in 1.49.01. i will install it and use 2.0. hope i will have better experience using it. n thank Devin Kendig for your hardwork.
