wow thanks for the suggestion. my company's budget could be higher though.
- will Nvidia GTX 980 Ti render faster than using Intel Core i7-5960X? but this will give me some reference.
wow thanks for the suggestion. my company's budget could be higher though.
I currently use MacBook Pro :
2.7ghz Intel core i7
16gb 1600mhz ddr3
Nvidia GeForce gt 650m/ Intel had graphics 4000
And I have an iMac 27 retina for network rendering.
But I want a faster computer. My budget is minimum usd$4000 for the custom built.
I heard I should get Titan graphics card? Basically I have no clue what I should get
For my custom built pc.
I think I need a at least a processor 4 times faster than 2.7 ghz i7;
I am not sure vray sketchup uses fast graphic card.
I don't want to invest in expensive graphic card and not improve render time!
Thanks in advance.
From a clueless power vray sketchup user.
awesome fredo! thanks!
thanks. I do have the plugin.
Hi you all,
I think there is a plugin or sth that can enable me to select without selecting the back of an item. does someone know this plugin or how to do it without the plugin? thanks very much!
this is just my two cents.
I recently switched to a gaming mouse which has at least 7extra programmable buttons for "mouse button" shortcuts.
I use it because Im tired of some of the keyboard shortcuts.
the pros:
the cons:
I just think my gaming mouse will improve my workflow.

this might be a little off topic here. but I recently found out the jfmoveit script is the best script for moving objects!
http://sketchucation.com/plugin/826-jf-moveit
u should change the color to very very black.
wow never knew...lol...glad i asked...thanks!!
Hi you all, I need to move several objects in X direction. lets say I move object 1 in direction X, 1.543 meters,
then I move object 2 in direction X, 1.543 meters. BUT I can only type in that 1.543. it gets very cumbersome.
if using push pool tool, you can just double click the face, then all the faces will push pool to that same distance.
I wonder if there is a plugin to let me input a value then select the objects then all the objects will be moved with the same value.
you may ask why not select all the objects then move them all at the same time. the problem is I need to move objects in different groups. I don't think you can select objects within different groups at the same time.
hope my question is clear. let me know what you think. thanks in advance.
Hey Dave and Kristoff, really thank you two for patiently answering my question. thanks so much!!!
I now understand more. Great helps!!
Wow. Never knew. I just assumed when I draw an object, the object will have the xyz values of the world relating to the world origin. Guess my assumption is so wrong!
I use sketchup mainly for furniture making and Not buildings that have to be geo correct.
I will try the plugin and geo locate tmr.
Thanks for the help.
I just drew a rectangle near the origin 0,0,0.
I just used rectangle tool to draw then push pull to an object. I don't know if it's geo located.
I will look into it .so
There is no way of finding out the xyz values of the world?
Getting the xyz values of a vertex of an object is very easy, by using the text tool, like you said!!
But why is it so hard to get the xyz values of the world?
how do you find the absolute xyz coordinates of a point in the WORLD?
i used text tool to click and the values are just the xyz values of the object. thanks please help
ahh! I forgot to go to USERS!!!!. yes I found it!!! Thanks!!! glad I asked.
i just found out the same problem here. I go to Library > Sketchup 2013,2014,2015 Plugins Folders and can't find my newly installed "extensions". Thus, I can't delete them. but where else can i find them though. Scratching my head.
I even looked at the extension warehouse, couldn't find my newly installed extensions either.
please be gentle with your comments. lol. thanks.
I will probably post a little more.
Note:
Pics are rendered using Vray for sketchup. Modelled by me. Some models are from 3d warehouse or other sources.
the interior design is not by me. let me know if you all have any questions. Thanks.
