Hi Robert,
I'm not able at all to help this translation..
But here are some additional links to this wonderful stadium
taken from here
Here is a chinese Sketchup model of the National Stadium of Pekin National Stadium_v0.skp which is dealing with that sort of questions and is very interesting to dismount...
(taken from:
archINFORM)
I have worked on it for a friend who was asking me quotations, cause he was to install a "Spider Cam" on it for a manifestation...

A concert of a rare quality: strange bluesy songs seaming to come from low suburbs of London at Jack The Ripper times.

It is very evident in such a case that the question of the details is asked: What is the "Fine Line" where do you stop ?

Woao! Classy!
and please forget la "trompette de poche"
I played drums in my youth. Now I filmed them
simon
Dear Eric,
This one is (virtually ) for you!
I have found this nice little "trompette de poche" in one of those shops which are taking advantage of the proximity to "Salle Pleyel" in Paris. I had taken the picture thinking it will be one day for you. It is the good occasion to deliver it to you I guess.
friendly,
simon
( phone reply )
Thank you so much dear Slaven + +
This one was done with a mouse. I now have a super tablet.
Sculptris is a good choice, but you have to manage import export, and simplify the mesh.
Help this with Meshlab is a good idea.
Re: both softs are portable
Hi dear Tim
I'm very touched!
In fact I can't remember a modeling I have done into SketchUp which equal for long what Numb delivers to us here.
You may think rather to things I had modeled with Sculptris I guess. This dedicated soft to organic is far easy in comparison...

@simon: nothing misterious about it, my friend. I used SDS and tools from Fredo6 Collection.
It's not often that we see such a mastering of organic modeling into SU . I would had preferred some little nice secrets which would had made things easy

Hi Dear Numb
I find your models extremely fine ++
I would wish to know what sort of tools and techniques are involved into these works and mainly the SketchUp part . But of course, If secrets are, no offense if you keep them.

Good. What are you rendering it with? It looks like Kerkythea. IMO a little (bit more enhanced?) bumpiness would add to it. Of course, eventually there needs to be some environment or a render to look good (even for the reflections as there needs to be something reflected of course)
