Well I'm not really sure on a Vray setting side, but in Photography the way to fix that would be by doing 2 or more exposures, one for proper interior lighting and one for proper exposure of the window and then combine them in photoshop or other HDR program.

Exporting photomatched hidden line into photoshop
Good Afternoon,
I know I've seen a tip on this years ago but I just can't seem to find it anymore.
My problem is this, I have a quick Massing Model in Sketchup that I've lined up in a scene via photomatch to an image I have. I want to export a 2D image of the model and bring it into Photoshop, but I cannot get the aspect ratio to match that of the original photo. So when I overlay the sketchup model in photoshop it no longer lines up with the photo. Anybody know of any tips they can give me?

RE: Scaling native .vismat material
Hey that looks really good. Where do you set the Perlin noise size exactly? Is it the same as UV repeat?

RE: Vray - Transparent Gradient Glass Help
You need something to determine the UV location of the material, something 100% transparent in Vray but opaque in Sketchup that will allow you to set the proper size of the gradient texture on the face. As you have it now I'm guessing that the texture is actually a repetitive 1" square block.
Edit:
I've attached a material that seems to work.

RE: Z-Depth gone crazy
Well from what I figure you have set. Anything in front of 4000" will not be black and anything past 18000" will be white. So what I'm seeing is typically what depth of field would show, because anything in front of 4000" would be blurry, things AT 4000" would be in focus and then focus would be reduced until you hit 18000". So I would just adjust your values to be more exaggerated say 3000" and 25000" and see what happens.

RE: Reflection effects on perforated material
Quick question to the OP. Did you use the same vismat for both instances? The reason I ask is because I know that there have been some issues using older vismats with the newer version of the VRaySU. You could try re-building your material from scratch in the newer version to see if that works better.

RE: Texgrid to control panelization of a material?
I've done something similar for Insulated Metal Panels. But I just made a tileable square pattern in Photoshop and then either resized it in sketchup or change the repeat values in Vray. Worked pretty well, but takes a little tweaking.

RE: Help with vray materials
I usually just tweak the standard textures to suit my needs. But this site has some really nice free textures: http://luzindirecta.luxisessentia.com/
Nomeradona has some materials on his blog as well: http://www.sketchupvraymaterials.blogspot.ca/
Hope these help

RE: VRAY render not working
Hmm...thats interesting. I just assumed that since each object would be in a different location it would have to parse each one as if it were unique due to changes in lighting/shadow, reflection etc. So if you had 6 of the same component it would read it as 6 separate instances unless they were all located in the exact same location under the same conditions. I wouldn't think the rendering engine would be object based.

RE: VRAY render not working
Perhaps the OP can post their model for others to try.

RE: Not rendering
Hi,
Have you tried rendering a very simple scene, say a default colored box just to see if that works? If it does then I would have to say the problem has to do with the model, if it doesn't work then I would suggest maybe uninstalling and reinstalling Vray.If it is your model you can try to open the exisiting model, select everything and copy it into a brand new sketchup file and see if that helps any. Also make sure you've selected the Default Visopt in Vray to ensure you dont have a problem using an older version visopt.

RE: Controlling refraction
Just as a quick question, is there any physical gap between the glass tumbler and the ground plane? It almost looks like a form of Z-fighting, I would try to raise the glass like 1/128" or so above the ground plane and see if that helps. Likewise, is there any gap between the glass and the liquid? Perhaps scale the liquid by a very small factor to keep it away slightly from the glass.

RE: Straaaange issue, pls help
I'm thinking it's not the toon of the laser, but rather the toon of all the OTHER materials that are making the lines for the laser. Perhaps you could render everything but the laser first, then re-render the laser beam itself and composite the two in post?

Wow...thats awesome. Thanks for the find.

RE: Glass material in windows
Thats very interesting. In the glass material you are using is there any refraction added?

RE: Zippo Lighter
That is a nice simple solution, but I believe the original idea was to be able to cut it with a 3D printer which wouldn't work with a rendering.
Has anyone tried to map the skull on to the lighter, then trace it using draw-on-face plugin and then extrude with Joint Push Pull tool? Just a thought.

RE: Vray Load Error
I would say something happened to your Vray ruby file. Perhaps re-installation is in order, and there is also a newer version out which might help out on some other issues you might or might not have had.

RE: Problem with RenderID
I'm guessing that in the VRAY Materials editor the two materials are listed as having the same color in the ID slot.

RE: Environmental reflections
Another option I've seen before is taking pictures of what is to be reflected, reverse it and then paste it as a material on the reflective surface.
