It's not a 'culprit' plugin or two. 😲
It's a result of the number of plugins you have loading - the context-menu etc can only support a certain number of 'commands' - if you exceed it by having hundreds of plugins vying for space it will 'gray-out'. This is a discussion about it AND even a plugin that tries to optimize 'command' usage http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=252413#p252413 . However its success will be limited if you have too many plugins loading - you can 'spring-clean' and disable the ones you never use that are contributing to the 'critical-mass' that's tipping you over the 'gray-out' limit - rename the little used .rb files with .TXT suffix, and then if you find later you want it to revert you can just remove the suffix and restart, OR to load it for that session only use ' load "xxxx.rb.TXT"' in the Ruby Console - where 'xxxx' is the tool/script's name.
Note that if you have the latest version of your plugins then this will also help - a few scripts [including several of Fredo's] were found to contribute to this 'gray-out' issue by making 'duplicated' commands - as far as I know they have all be updated many months ago to avoid this contributory factor... Look through your Plugins and the Plugins Index to ensure you are up to date too...

Yes I am in perspective. Sketchup is really troubling me sometimes in the components browser, on clicking the down arrow drop down menu in it when I click components, it gets stuck. i.e. for e.g. if I have the landscape library opened and i want to go back to the architecture pack it won't show up. you have another post for this question... try to keep your posts together and not spread out.

this is a known issue called clipping. your model has extremely small geometry and extremely big geometry... and the origin is to far from the farthest point.

Now I tryed to do what you did and found and easy solution.
open paint bucket tool
Right click texture object - make unique texture
Then bucket paint it to the other sides

So they gave you no answer but the one you got was confusing? 😕

It's not really a "hack". There are a bunch of file types that work the same way. skm, kmz to name some from this SU/GE domain. They are simply "packed" files and are only renamed so that applications and the OS can identify them

That would explain my readings that said that when an SSD is installed readyboost is disabled by default. I'm not real clear on how disk caching relates to rendering though. Is it possible that a renderer might use disk caching?

thanks a lot charlie. But the problem is still there. I found the dll files as advised by you by doing the search thing in my nimbuzz[a chatting app] program files folder and snagit[screenshot utility] folder

Actually i had this problem with google sketchup too when I was having XP but not the dll thingy. sketchup used 2 crash the moment i used to start it in windows xp sp3. i used 2 get a bug splat. but this happened two or 3 times only. and this used to happen more if i had an autocad/coreldraw/media player classic window open. many times media player classic also did the same teasing thing. i.e. the screen came 4 a fraction of second then disappear. But this has been resolved now, inspite of the facts that no virus found. "I'm not having any invisible-kick-software-startup a##" virus am I? 😕

It won't automatically make dashed lines. You have to set them to be dashed.

You didn't ask but if the section view is coming from SketchUp, explode it and then change the desired edges to dashed lines.

I thought perhaps Geosketch from Cogent3d.com would have some relevance. This is what I mentioned, but couldn't remember. Another part of the name is TacForge. It is not a simple tracer.

I think what most people have been trying to politely say in most of your threads is, If you try learning the basics first you will do so much better.

Trying to use a plug in before you understand how to do something manually will only slow you down in the future.
