Who are they?
That would be Bruce Polderman and Nicole Drobeck

Oh yes. What's more, you can now work with building maker straight in SU (v.8) and then just simply press the button to go on editing using the SU tools.
Hm.. yes. Well that's basically doing the same thing. It opens a little browser window, and you need to save to warehouse. (And take care to uncheck the checkbox that says it's a ready model) Only thing is that there's a button for it.

RE: Recreating lost faces automatically?
there's a plugin called Makefaces. I use it all the time to make faces in flat autocad drawings, but I think it'll work just as fine for non-flat stuff, as long as you've got closed lines. You can download it at Smustard.com

Workshop in the Netherlands
Y'all know about Building Maker, right?
I think it's really difficult to work with, as opposed to SU. It has one major advantage though. Aerial imagery. Now Google has recently taken pictures of a place here in Holland, Den Haag. To promote this, Google's hosting a workshop, located at my school; The School of Architecture at Delft Technical University. Two people from Google are flying in for the occasion.Anyone wanting to join the workshop can register here (English) or here (Dutch).
By the way, did you know that when you've made a building in Building maker, and uploaded it, you can then open the model in SU and the aerial images show up as photo-matched images? Awesome!!

RE: Google Qualified/Certified Geo 3D Developer
Hehe thanks. You're the boss. I don't remember how long... I think 40mins or so. I was multitasking...

RE: Google Earth 6 released
There's one thing I do not like.
It's the automatic switching to streetview. Here I am, trying to check out if my model renders correctly in GE (it doesn't) and when I go for a bit of a close up... wham. Streetview. Have to exit streetview, zoom in all over again, be really careful about it.. and wham. there it is again. Streetview.
Can't find anywhere an option to turn it off temporarily... -

Hey Gai
I scored more points in the test than you did

RE: [WIP]Executive suite
I have a question regarding your first post...
Are those spaces all in the same building???
They look so very different from each other! Can you show something to show the context? Like, why is that conference room so oddly shaped? (I know it's probably a given, but I'm curious)btw I liked the way you put their dove-logo in the woodwork... why is it gone in later stages?
also; with these kind of images it's nice to have a big one, to be able to see all the detail you put into it. but when clicking on it, it takes me to a site where a same size image is...

RE: Get current view in color???? how
Yay. Colour imagery is standard in SU8!!

Thanks Martha.
As the title of the thread points out, this is designed by Richard Meier... and is a built project.
I'm certain the real church wouldn't let this much sun in.oops. forgot to read properly

RE: Jubilee Church - by R. Meier
That looks totally awesome, Fletch!
I do hope you thought to incorporate sun shading in the design... it's gonna be hot in there. -
RE: I'm brand new to this...
You don't need money, Rich. You're already Rich.

RE: Grid on a curve surface problem
Note that a curved surface will always exist out of a grid or other kinds of geometric subdivisions. To see them, turn on Hidden Geometry in your View menu.
If you want it to be more detailed, use the sandbox tools. The 'add detail' button is always nice. But if you need a specific grid, use the 'from scratch' button. It looks like a grid. This can be projected upon a curved surface with the Drape tool.If you don't see the Sandbox toolbar listed in View > Toolbars, you may need to turn it on in your preferences.

RE: Importing images as a starting point
Or, if you mean to use a perspective photo, choose 'photomatch' as option when importing. Have fun!
-
RE: A patterned mesh on a curved surface
What exactly do you mean with 'patterned mesh'?
Can you use the sandbox tool 'Drape'? (be sure to make the curved surface horizontal, and the mesh to drape over it sit in the right position x,y-wise) -
RE: Animation insists on leaping over wall
Gigi, have you found the animation options? Via Window > Model info > animation you can set how long it takes to go from one scene to another, and whether the camera should pause at each scene. Then when you export, be sure to click 'options'. Here you can un-check the box for 'loop to start', if you'd like.

RE: HOW TO ADD WINDOWS ON A BENDING SURFACE ?
Eshita13, go to View > Hidden Geometry.
Now you can see what your curved surface is actually made up of. Lots of small straight surfaces. If you try to pushpull a curved surface, SketchUp won't know which of those small straight surfaces to use as the direction.
Instead, you need to use two volumes and subtract the one from the other.
If you happen to have SU8Pro, there's a fast way, but I'm assuming you don't... view this tut: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax9HY06PB8M&feature=player_embedded -
