      Hi all,

I've got the newest version of V-Ray, and it has new buttons in the Framebuffer window. Now the 'compare' buttons look useful, but I can't get them to do anything. Are those there just for show? Or yet to be implemented?

Also, does anyone know if there's a document telling me, like, 'these are the new features and this is what they do'?

      cheers
      Pyro

Hm. I'm a bit late to reply. Anyway; you might have seen the model used on their website at material downloads > vray 1.48 only as a testscene

      tadema

I like the pictures, but I think I wouldn't want to live there... windows are way too small!!

I like the second image best... the third has a bit of pattern tiling visible in the grass... the last one is a bit overdone with the vignette

      So beautiful!
I want to make stuff like that! Please share with us your process... did you make every part of the model yourself? The books, the furniture... Or do you have some secret, but really valuable resource?
How much time did you spend on it? Was it an assignment?
Also; are the images straight from V-Ray, or did they need some tweaking in Photoshop? If so, I'm curious to see the difference... if not, I want to know your render settings!!

Haha lots of questions... sorry for that... πŸ’š

      hi shaheen,
that method in itself is not bad, but you really have to watch your blur radius.
also now that I take a closer look... in your second image, the background image doesn't align with the render; the horizon is too high

    • RE: Interior in V-Ray

hi guys.. thanks for the C&C... I made a new version.
ok so I wasn't paying attention to the verticals before - that was stupid of me πŸ˜„
the yellowish hue of the wallpaper is too sensitive. some screens it shows golden yellow, other screens it shows more of a mustard colour. I don't like that. so I switched to grey/silver.
thanks @mimarhamza for pointing out the HSph subdivision setting. I got better results now. although some of the 'stains' in the first render weren't the effect of that setting being too low, but the effect of caustics being turned on. And a chrome sphere does lots of caustics. That's also the reason for the spots on the skirting, @designerstuart. And yes the slightly surreality was intentional. Although I think this second image is a little less surreal. hm.
@tadema, I raised the ceiling so you won't bang your head on the lamp πŸ˜„ But the out-of-scale wallpaper is intentional!

    • Interior in V-Ray

      Hi everyone,

it's been a while since I posted much... I hope you guys like the below render... comments en critics welcome.

Model made in SU... couch and chair were made for a library CD for my work, lamp downloaded from warehouse. The wallpaper pattern is from Graham&Brown.

Rendered in V-Ray 1.49.01. Trying out caustics, bump- and reflection-mapping.

Post-pro in photoshop: bit of lighting up, cause I made the render at night and then this morning with daylight it seemed way too dark. also a bit of solarizing.

    • RE: A few houses exteriors

      Really nice renders, AcesHigh!
I like that extreme greenness of the grass, even though it's a bit surreal. But the trees are very dark in comparison. Try to make them work together more.
Als there's a little tree next to house two, that is more mature than it is big. A tree of that size would look more spriggy.
And if you would want to use a grungemap in V-Ray, you can use the 'TexBlend' for the diffuse colormap. Or just make two diffuse layers of which one is semitransparent...
